[Wels sleeps through the night, and Jellie lays down on Wels' bed while Scar's back is turned.]
Wels: "Oh, hi!"
Scar: "Awwww!!"
Wels sounding genuinely shocked: "I didn't even know that they could do that!"
Scar: "That's so cute! I've so rarely seen them do that."
Wels, overlapping: "When did they add that?!"
Scar: "I feel like it's been in the game for a long time, but I've like, so rarely seen them actually get in the bed."
Wels: "I've never actually seen that before, I didn't even know that was a thing. I mean, I basically never tame the cats, so that's probably why, but..."
Scar: "I've tamed a lot of cats, but maybe they've just never been by beds? I have not seen them do that for a long time."
Wels: "I dunno. Yeah, I've never seen that before. I do need my bed back though, so."
[Wels breaks the bed out from under Jellie, and Scar laughs. After a moment, Wels giggles too.]

anyways yes, let me scour the folders in my brain for something,,,
oh I know something đź‘€ so Scar is obviously vex, a species people often see as fae, the striking deals and destructively mischievious kind of faefolk. Wels is a pretty smart guy, so the first time after Scar's full transformation into something vex-like, when Scar can't help his nature and tries to trick him within the first few lines he says, Wels manages to make the conversation sound so casual and somehow twists it in such a way that Scar almost strikes a very inconvenient deal. almost.
Scar ends up inconveniently falling in love with him <3 tries to strike up more conversations for Wels to navigate through, starts learning every tell, every twitch of the mouth that betrays a grin, watching his eyes and physical cues very closely. for vex purposes. obviously. he has no clue when vex business turned into hearty conversations where he really wants to hear Wels laugh.
turns out the best way to get out of fishy fae (attempted) deals is to have them fall in love with your laugh. works every time, no lie
