I wanted to share this with someone. So basically I'm an intern doctor working in a gmc rn. Posted in the obgy dept.
So a very major component of these patients is to get sonography done. Some patients are very heavily pregnant so need to be pushed in a wheelchair. So their husbands usually accompany them. And most of them are so caring 😭
Sonography in a government hospital takes a lot of time like 3 hours of waiting and they are gently consoling their wives, soothing them.
One time i was coming up to the 3rd floor in a lift and met a patient's husband and he with a very proud grin told me ki they had a girl.
But obgy doctors are a whole different genre and i have developed stress ulcers because of them 😭

(on the other hand obgyn doctors mostly know nothing. i have pcos so my visits to my obgyn have been very frequent this last year. and it just keeps getting worse. so so many girls are diagnosed with pcos/pcod these days yet these doctors don't bother with anything. it's the same garbage all the time. lose weight and if that doesn't work take birth control. that's it. nothing else. it's genuinely so frustrating. other than that they keep saying that it's all normal. cramps so painful you can't get up? normal. you are vomiting and nauseous while on your periods? normal. you can't eat? normal. when infact none of this is normal. they just don't care. the only time they will care is when you are trying to conceive. or pregnant. even then they don't care about the woman, but her ability to birth a child.)
