Lonely Drifter Karen (Indie Pop): Bolder, colder and brushed in chrome, Poles is a stylistically cohesive, colourful maelstrom of brooding but punchy interplanetary dream pop.

Vandaveer (Folk Rock): VANDAVEER is the song-singing, record-making, globetrotting project penned and put forth by alt-folk tunesmith Mark Charles Heidinger. Born in Ohio, raised in Kentucky, and currently camped out in the nation’s capital, Vandaveer offers up melodic Americana that is both haunting and easy, forlorn and welcoming, with stories as universal as the songs they inhabit.

Olfar (Indie Rock): Self-recorded in a remote barn in the Lake District, snow piled against the door and fires crackling within, Olfar's 'Harbour' is full of wrecked ships, sea creatures, war horses and lost souls. From title-track 'Harbour Hymn's soaring strings to the broken introversy of 'Haul Me In The River', the songs take a path through strange lands, stormy seas, tormented souls and broken hearts.

The Ex-Boyfriends (Punk Rock): Spastic and catchy punk rock from Dayton, Ohio's Rad Girlfriend Records.

Passenger Peru (Indie Rock): Playing an experimental sort of indie pop, the guitar tones are Sonic Youth-ish: dreamy landscapes with noisy scrapes of guitar, only to fall back into the peaceful tranquility moments later. Click their name to listen to their trippy single "Heavy Drugs".

Nathan Reich (Folk/Singer-Songwriter): In addition to being a technically brilliant guitarist, Nathan's lyrics put you in a specific place and mindset - it usually has something to do with heartbreak, late nights, and waking up the next day in some new city.

The Reigning Monarchs (Surf Rock): Combining surf rock, ska and other influences, this Los Angeles band makes awesome film ready tunes. You also might begin to skank on your surfboard. 

Cosmonauts Day (Post Rock/Instrumental Rock): From the depths of Russian underground scene comes absolutely epic spaced out sludge outfit Cosmonauts Day! Intense guitar riffing, crushing to the ground and below drum stabbing, wicked bass, dreamy solos and an atmosphere of a cold space - their music is a mind journey to the places you've never known.

Dani Elliot (Soul): New York City based Dani Elliott brings a refreshing, soulful energy to the singer/songwriter forefront. Deriving her inspiration from the likes of Meshell N'degeocello, Jill Scott, and Corinne Bailey Rae, she weaves a musical tapestry that evokes sophisticated creativity with a maturity seldom seen in young artists today.

Not the Bees! (Punk Rock): Rough around the edges melodic DIY punk from North Jersey. For fans of Jawbreaker, Hot Water Music, Crimpshrine, etc.

My Jacket Is Yours (Indie Rock): A french rock band that combines rock, pop, trip hop and more.Lead singer Laura Pascale has an oddly infectious atmosphere to her voice and delivery. 

Zero Excuse (Dubstep): Emerging from the San Francisco South Bay, Zero Excuse is a dubstep/electro house producer trying to make a name for himself.

Salvation Armband (Soul/Pop): "Salvation Armband is a soulful-jazz ensemble from Queens, led by vocalist Justina Soto and guitarist Danny Iuliano. So often in the sea of rock/punk/metal/hardcore bands that are so prevalent in the New York music scene - it’s such a refresher for me to hear something so mature, crafted and well-exectued coming from my peers. They create a musical atmosphere that breathes new life into an old sound." -Abeer Khalique, Latency Magazine

The Howl (Indie Rock): The Howl is a 4-piece indie-rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Their technical approach to rock music is fresh and energetic but still accessible to a diverse audience. They have spent the past 2 years writing and playing shows around the immediate chicago-land area and have recently completed their debut EP entitled "900 Feet Beneath" that was released this September.

Buffalo Killers (Rock): Mixing up hard rock, loose-limbed boogie, psychedelia, and early heavy metal into a sound that ambles and pummels at once, Cincinnati's Buffalo Killers aren't so much a stoner rock band as a band that makes rock that's ideal for stoners.

Micah Brown (Acoustic/Rock): "Although Brown has a modern, almost-folksy vocal styling, he balances out the well-pitched cool of his voice with scorching-hot guitar riffs reminiscent of Delta Blues greats Robert Johnson or John Lee Hooker." On the heels of his debut EP release and two U.S. national tours, Micah has been in the studio all year working on a debut full-length album "The Isle of Her" that is due out August 2012.

Step Daddy (Alternative Rock): Active since 2009, Step Daddy is the collaboration of 4 Seattle veterans, each having more than 10 years experience in the Seattle music scene. It's members have played in such acts as the Kindness Kind, Ben's Jazz Kit, Kate Tucker and Pawn Council. Since their inception they have written more than 25 songs and on the eve of the release of their first LP, are already planning the tracking of their second.

Gypsy (Alternative Rock): Featuring members of bands like Cold World, Mother Of Mercy, and Stick Together, Gypsy step away from hardcore and bring melodic indie/punk that takes cues from Knapsack, Jawbreaker, and Dinosaur Jr.

American Aquarium (Americana/Rock): Hailing from Raleigh, NC, American Aquarium’s southern musical perspective is a blend of honest songwriting, an unwavering work ethic, and a genuine love of rock & roll. Whether you call it alt-country, Americana, or roots rock, one thing is for certain: Their music is a fresh voice that borrows from many forms of the American songbook.

Diggs Duke (Soul/R&B): A new soul sound is coming from the pen of a young American singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer. With two underground-approved EPs under his belt, Diggs Duke has now been appointed as "the new Duke of soul" (mercedes-benz.com/mixedtape). Since it's release in December, his debut project, "Gravity," has been receiving airplay all over the world, including the popular BBC radio show of Gilles Peterson.

Lushlife (Hip Hop): Plateau Vision finds Lush at his most self-possessed, effectively ignoring the outside world of Tumblr-paced album cycles and blog buzz, to create that rare, contemplative hip-hop LP; one that somehow balances its hazed-out cassette experimentations with the pop-friendly underpinnings of big-room hip-hop.

Line & Circle (Indie Rock): Brian Cohen, lead singer of Line & Circle has a buzzy, Michael Stipe-like sadness that at times ventures into into emotional territory occupied only by rare talents like Matt Berninger of The National.

Natural Child (Rock): “Big Pimpin” is the first single off of Natural Child’s third full-length album, Hard In Heaven, available in September on Burger Records.

Spider Bags (Garage/Punk): At its foundation Spider Bags latest album, Shake My Head is a collection of straightforward bar-rock songs. Walking (well, staggering) rhythms lend a vintage R&B swing behind overdriven guitar lines that mine '70s rock and pop.

Kalispell (Alt-Folk): Kalispell's Westbound feels like a long-awaited exhale. Rooted in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Kalispell is the project of Shane Leonard, accompanied live and on recording by Ben Lester (AA Bondy, S. Carey), Kevin Rowe (The Barley Jacks), and others. Westbound, the first full-length album, has been six years in the making. In that time, Shane has traveled as a musician and a teacher, from Massachusetts to Wisconsin, partnered and single, rarely static, and so the songs too have changed and deepened with the retelling. The result is a unique mix of clawhammer banjo and pedal steel guitar, of old-timey Appalachian traditions as in "Methodist Lift" and the ethereal, ambient music of songs like "Sepia Ghost." And in each is the poet’s exhale, Shane giving himself away.

Tropical Punk (Indie Rock): Nashville's Tropical Punk blends garage sensibilities with punk, psych, and alternative rock influences.

Sinitus Tempo (Jazz/Hip Hop Instrumentals): Sinitus Tempo is a producer from Mount Rainier, Maryland that garnered a lot of internet acclaim around the world for his Anime tribute music. Journey is a beautiful 19-track album that illuminates ST's flair for mellow jazz samples and moody compositions. Shadowdance (Metal): Dark, Atmospheric Power Metal with Progressive Elements from Philadelphia, PA. New album "Future Negative Fantasy" available now.

Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band (Funk): Nu-Funk from Asheville, North Carolina. Their latest album, Doin' It Hard, is available as a free download.

Bright Lines (Alt-Country/Bluegrass): Bright Lines is like a weird but pleasing acid trip down into the clammy heart of the earth. They play original roots and rockabilly music and sing about apocalyptic love and more.

Nicolas Repac (Electronic Blues): Nicolas Repac is recognized as guitarist (the inseparable friend of Arthur H), as manipulator of machines of all kinds, and composer who already has his name on three albums. ‘Black Box’ is a beautiful musical journey dedicated to all the different shades of the blues.

The Lone Crows (Rock): The Lone Crows are a stunning mix of Blues, Jam, Garage and even heavy Stoner rock styles that culminate in a variety of songs ranging from punishing 14 minute jams to simple soulful ballads.

Young Moon (Indie Rock): Trevor Montgomery is a craftsman. By day he's a skilled tile setter, a job taxing to both the mind and body. By night he's an equally meticulous and hard working musician, coaxing just the right tones out of his vintage drum machines and synths to carry his tales of love and redemption. As a tile setter and as a musician, his job is the same: assembling things of beauty to fill empty spaces.

The Machine (Stoner Rock): The Machine, hailing from Rotterdam, Holland, pair molten stoner rock riffs with a fair dose of retro psych for good measure. The band also excels at incorporating acid-blues jamming that lifts their whole performance into outer space.

7evenThirty (Hip Hop): “GetUp!!!” finds this microphone extra-terrestrial standing out amongst the regular degular everyday life. Ruthless rhymes mixed with “time-travel and zappin’ n****s” is a particularly curious formula that requires a particularly eccentric mind to pull off right.

Glocca Morra (Punk Rock): Punk rock group that sing mostly about being bummed out, failed relationships with all people, alcohol and drugs.

Sam Hart (Acoustic/Singer-Songwriter): Straight forward acoustic folk from a San Francisco based singer-songwriter.

The Laurels (Indie Rock): THE LAURELS are a four-piece from Sydney who create luscious, complex and dangerous psychedelic shoegaze bliss.

We Are Oceans (Post-Rock/Instrumental): Music that will make you want to drive through white mountains.

Versis (Hip Hop): Throwback, golden era-esque jazzy hip hop from bi-coastal connection Versis (Cali MC) and Bagir-Ba (Brooklyn producer).

Vanisher (Metal): Vanisher is a five piece melodic metal band from North Carolina. Infusing elements of swedish metal with thrash and rock, Vanisher goes back to it's roots to put a modern spin on a classic style of metal.

Dark Time Sunshine (Hip Hop): Dark Time Sunshine is comprised of Onry Ozzborn of Grayskul and producer Zavala.
