Ne morem vnaprej napovedati, kdaj bo καιρός - pravi čas - za stvari, ki si jih želim, in to je precej žalostno, ker res hočem vedeti, kdaj bojo fajn stvari.
My daughter made that horse in kindergarten...? I don't exactly remember. She would. I'll have to ask her. The horse's facial expression, that wry little smile makes me giggle each time I look at that photo. And the horse's googly eye contact with the little object in the palm of my hand, a little plastic horse bridle, it snaps onto a specific tiny toy horse. Both of these items were found in the very same place I was all-at-once made aware of hidden knowledge that instantly changed the trajectory of my entire life. I'll touch on this a little more later ~
I'm in the process of moving houses. So, things that haven't been seen in a while are now being manipulated and moved around. This highlights the fact that chaos is secretly order. Almost more honestly and potently so. Within this spectacularly chaotic time in my life, seemingly very random — yet perfectly aligned serendipitous synchronicity is rapidly unfolding like a strange phantasmal fairytale. Synchronicities such as this sweet and silly, and deeply significant moment in time 🐴 Captured yesterday morning, around 8:10am.
I made a post yesterday all about this big, beautiful rustic sphinx moth that I had the pleasure of receiving a visit from over the peak of the Lion's Gate weekend. Her visit felt profoundly symbolic, a calm reassurance and a highly blessed omen. The over-arching messages I resonated with most from her presence is to fully trust in the uncertain unfolding taking place within the darkness ☯️ to navigate by, and aim for starlight 🌟 and to know always that the light is there even when it's not visible during a storm. To deeply trust in my intuition, moving carefully and quietly in order to hear that inner voice all the more clearly — but to move continuously, fluidly, and with intention. Trust.
The insect arrived like a dark angel to delicately frame current heavy themes in my life — the moth's symbolism of complete transformation through metamorphosis, with emphasis on its nocturne nature and associations with death — ego death, transcendence. Dark endings initiating an entirely new lightened/enlightened way of being. Shadow work. Hidden truths coming to light. The historical significance of the sphinx moth commonly being confused for a hummingbird, or thought to be a hybrid of the two is a profound connection to my dad who passed away; hummingbirds a spiritual symbol of him always. The sphynx moth essentially representing the only other man aside from my dad that I have ever bonded as closely to; an inverse, uncanny version of my father. My dead dad's living ghost... A man who I have come to acknowledge as my shadow, in the flesh... repeating the same exact trajectory as my dad, with the same details and the same possibilities unfolding, yet absolutely fundamentally different.
Coming back to the horse synchronicity ~ As I said, I'm in the middle of moving. Each day I've been packing things up and putting the boxes by the door for the aforementioned guy, my shadow, to pack into the car and drop off in the house, as he has to go to that area just about every day. Yesterday when I packed things up, and left boxes ready for him to load up, I had a couple of items (that horse with the wry smile being one of them) that I hadn't secured in a box yet, sitting with other items I was still in progress of boxing up. That horse and the other item will likely be sitting in storage for a while and I wanted them in a box to protect from dust and other elements. He grabbed them while I was already in bed and loaded them in the car, probably not really thinking about them being unpacked being an issue. No big deal. I got up the next morning before him and noticed those items missing from my "packing in progress" pile, and I decided I was going to get them myself even though I have never touched the keys to the car even once before lol. How hard could it be?
Our dynamic had already been heavy and weird. Closely witnessing him walk his shadow-path eerily resembling my dead dad's very same path... and let me say, watching my dad go down that path and succumb horrifically to it, is the hardest thing I have ever had to live through. So, I honestly try not to ask my shadow man for much at all just based on that alone. However, there are additional related reasons I try to avoid asking him for anything. He was still asleep, would get up in the next 15 minutes... I had a short window but didn't think it would be difficult or eventful. I grabbed the keys and had an annoying amount of time trying to figure out how to open up the back hatch... But in trying to figure it out, I stumbled upon a hidden truth that my shadow man had probably chosen some time ago, and had been lying to me about. To me, there is absolutely no quality worse than a liar. And just like that, it all clicked. I realized that recent prior intuitive truths I had picked up on and asked him about, that he denied, were also compiling lies. It made me sick to my stomach. Angry and disgusted. Yet I was honestly not surprised. I threw what I had found away, as he was going to come do it on his own anyway. Didn’t say anything to him about it. And in that process of throwing it away, I randomly found that tiny plastic toy horse bridle, all by itself in the driver’s side door storage area. I pocketed it not thinking too much of it.
And then after Googling it, and locating the one tiny button in a weird, hidden place for whatever reason... I finally got that overly complicated back hatch open. I was immediately drawn to a simple, singular, black and white feather delicately sitting right in the corner next to all the piled boxes of stuff. I immediately thought of the sphynx moth who also has black and white coloring. A reminder of the balance of dark and light, yin and yang. Feathers are often associated with "gifts" from angels, offering reassurance that you're on the right path. My personal dark angel left me a synchronicity of reassurance. I saw the horse right on top of the boxes, grabbed it and realized how funny it is that I found that plastic horse bridle randomly and by itself where my shadow man would drive, right after being shown a dark truth about him, changing my entire perspective and the entire trajectory of my life. Year of the horse. All I can think of is that my wryly smiling googly eyed horse is too big for that plastic bridle and it's a metaphor for my own freedom. Because I finally am. That dark truth being revealed had a profound butterfly[moth]-effect on literally everything else. I see everything all at once so clearly now.
I started bleeding the eve prior to the peak 8/8 Lion's Gate, alluding to a heavy period 🩸 of endings for me. Completions of cycles and contracts. Clearings. Bleeding inclined all-the-deeper focus into my own intimate inner world — peering out through the thin veil, oracular-like at all the loud and dramatic Leonian portal progressions, with enhanced psychic intuition. Piercing clairvoyant clarity. Seeing at once what is, while simultaneously penetrating beyond surface-level spectacles.
The new moon marking the tail end of the lion portal today amplified by the solar eclipse, concentrates the potence of severance in my life, and intensifies the magnified theme of what has been hidden becoming visible, secrets surfacing. Truth.
There is of course an exciting ushering of new possibilities aligned directly in tandem with what is ending for me. Sudden shifts. A crowning into a more authentic life of me. Victory. Coronation. Initiation. Gifts. But the endings themselves for me right now are so significant, they grip me and compel me to pause, to finish this up with grace...an intention of leaving things better than the condition I found them in...to of course thoroughly integrate the decades to lifetimes worth of culminated wisdom from this place...and to really soak in the final moments of his face...of this life...implications of literal death looms and asks me to carefully pause. While the exciting promise of bustling new life is impatiently eager to be born. I am sitting right on a very fragile cusp of a life and routine and a set of conditions that just last week was expected to continue into a future with no end in sight; looking out at a very clear, highly objective, yet deeply personal understanding that it is all rapidly coming to an end and that everything...is about to be completely different. Contracts/cycles I have been involved in for 20 years abruptly coming to an end. Moving households. A flow of life I thought I was going in, absolved of entire possibility, changing direction with an entirely new set of expectations.
Because I am so grounded and lucid nestled within the in-between of orphic intuition — this time of chaos, darkness, death — is cathartic, deeply understood, enlivening.

A couple of nights ago, I was working on something Lion's Gate related when I noticed it had started raining... I sprinted outside, remembering I hung a blanket out there earlier to dry (it's referred to as the cat's blanket in our house, cause it's our own little lion's favorite 😺). I noticed some movement on the base of a tall oleander directly in front of the clothesline, and I almost didn't look twice thinking it was a lizard... but I felt compelled to look a little closer — and oh my goodness am I so happy I did 💗
I have never seen a live specimen as large, and just as beautiful as this rustic sphinx moth. She was probably between 5 and 6 inches from wingtip to wingtip. Gorgeous glowing eyes. She was scampering into the oleander, probably to get out of the rain. I ran inside, dropped the blanket, and excitedly rallied up my daughter to come out and gaze at the moth with me, hoping she'd still be there when I got back.
She traveled up to that low branch and just sat there, posing. My daughter and I sat, staring enamored at her excellence for at least 10 minutes, as long as we could tolerate being out in the mosquito-laden lightly rainy night. She completely relaxed her antennae shortly after this video, indicating that she felt comfortable in our close presence.
Her visit felt profoundly lucky and as though it held symbolic significance.
She’s named after a sphinx, a creature with a lion’s body and a human head. In ancient Egypt, a sphinx symbolizes royal power and divine protection. In Greek stories, a sphinx is depicted as a winged female creature who posed a famous riddle ("What walks on four legs in the morning, two in the afternoon, and three in the evening?" *This riddle had me thinking about relativity, how to longer-living beings a human’s entire lifespan may just be one day to them…) and killed those who guessed wrong. Today, the word is also used to describe a mysterious or inscrutable person who shows little to no emotion, and keeps their thoughts to themselves.

In spiritual symbolism, encounters with a Rustic Sphinx Moth (manduca rustica) carry messages around profound personal transformation, navigating the unseen, the balance between light and dark, trusting your intuition, and mastering hidden strength through patience and concealed movements. Moths, in general, are linked to psychic abilities, intuition, and spiritual enlightenment or a higher truth. Because of the sphinx moth’s nocturnal habits and black-and-white camouflage, seeing one often serves as a quiet reminder to trust your inner voice and explore hidden truths.
Transformation and Rebirth
Like all moths, the sphinx moth undergoes a complete metamorphosis — from a heavy, earth-bound hornworm caterpillar into an agile, high-speed night flyer. An encounter often serves as a signal that you are undergoing or preparing for a major shift, encouraging trust in the uncomfortable process of shedding an old identity.
Navigating the Dark toward Light
As a nocturnal creature, the sphinx moth symbolizes deep intuition, dreamwork, and shadow work. Its natural drive to navigate by the stars and seek light in pitch darkness serves as a reminder to deeply trust your inner compass when facing uncertainty.
Stealth, and Earth Connection
The distinctive "rustic" patterning — a high-contrast mix of black and white that mirrors tree bark and weathered wood — symbolizes protection, camouflage, and remaining grounded. It suggests that now may be a time to move quietly, protect your personal energy, or integrate into your environment before making your next big move.
Precision, Focus, and Personal Power
Sphinx moths (also called hawk moths) are among the fastest and most agile flyers in the insect kingdom, capable of hovering effortlessly like hummingbirds. Spiritually, this reflects mastery over your energy: knowing when to hold steady in contemplation and when to act with powerful, deliberate precision. In the past, many people believed the sphinx moth was a hummingbird that had transformed into a moth, or a hybrid of the two. This historical belief beautifully reinforces the moth's core meaning of metamorphosis and the blurring of boundaries between different forms. It's a literal example of how the creature inspired wonder and ideas of change long before its spiritual symbolism was formally recognized.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ-ˋˏ ༻❀𔒝༺ ˎˊ- Hummingbirds are very spiritually significant to me, a connection to my daddy who passed away.
Literary Symbolism — Death, Transcendence, New Life
The sphinx moth has been used as a powerful literary device. In the works of Vladimir Nabokov, moths often appear in final scenes to signify a character's death and spiritual rebirth, serving as a window into a transcendent realm.
Spiritual Nourishment
Their long proboscis allows them to reach nectar other insects cannot, symbolizing your own ability to find joy, resolutions, and fulfillment in places and in times when it seems hard to reach.
Hidden Knowledge and Uncovering Secrets
The word "sphinx" connects these moths to ancient mysteries, suggesting it’s time to look beneath the surface of a situation. Its active time in the deep night connects it to the subconscious, secrets, and uncovering things that were previously hidden from your awareness.
Encounters with sphinx moths are often described as calming and reassuring, a message to trust the process, during times of change and endings. Because they are guided by the moon and hunt for sweetness in the dark, they often appear as messengers and quiet symbols offering reassurance during times of personal transition.
