WEEK 7: APRIL 15 – APRIL 21
Week 7 honestly felt like one of the most rewarding weeks of the entire project so far. Compared to the earlier weeks where I struggled with consistency, balance, and flexibility, this week felt much more natural and confident. I noticed that I was no longer just “trying to survive” the workouts. Instead, I actually felt stronger, more comfortable with the routines, and more confident while doing the poses.
This week, my goal was to complete:
5 yoga sessions
10,000 steps at least 3 times
I successfully completed all 5 yoga sessions and reached my 10,000-step goal 3 times this week.
My 10,000-step days this week were:
Thursday, April 16 – 10,495 steps
Friday, April 17 – 11,336 steps
Tuesday, April 21 – 10,954 steps
One of the biggest differences I noticed this week was how much easier some of the poses already felt compared to the beginning of the project. Earlier on, many stretches felt awkward, tiring, or difficult to hold for long periods of time. This week, I noticed that I could move through several poses more smoothly and with less hesitation. Some poses that previously felt intimidating now felt manageable and more controlled.
Something that made me especially happy this week was that my yoga teacher noticed my improvement as well. During one of the sessions, she complimented my progress and moved me into more advanced rounds because she noticed better balance, flexibility, and control in my movements. Hearing that from someone experienced in yoga felt very rewarding because it made me realize that the improvement was not just in my head. There was visible progress happening physically as well.
I think this week helped increase my confidence not only in yoga, but also in my ability to stay committed to long-term goals. At the start of this project, I honestly doubted whether I could remain consistent for several weeks straight. Now, after reaching Week 7, I feel more confident in my discipline and ability to adapt even when routines become more difficult.
Another thing I noticed this week is that the workouts started feeling less forced and more enjoyable. Instead of constantly checking the time or waiting for sessions to end, I found myself becoming more focused on improving my form and movements. I think this shift happened because the routine already became familiar, allowing me to focus less on “getting through it” and more on actually improving.
This week also connects to research about self-efficacy and physical activity. According to Bandura (1997), successfully completing challenging tasks repeatedly helps strengthen self-efficacy, or a person’s belief in their ability to succeed in specific situations. Looking back on this week, I think consistently completing difficult yoga sessions over time helped build my confidence not only physically, but mentally as well.
I also realized that progress becomes more motivating once improvements become visible. Earlier in the project, the results felt very gradual and difficult to notice. This week felt different because I could clearly see changes in flexibility, balance, and endurance. Even the compliments from my teacher became a reminder that small consistent actions over time eventually lead to visible improvement.
Overall, I would describe Week 7 as confident and motivating. This week made me feel proud of how far I have progressed since the start of the project, and it reminded me that consistency eventually creates results that both I and other people can notice.

Recommendations for the Following Weeks
For the following week, I want to continue building on the confidence and progress I gained this week. I also want to challenge myself more while still maintaining proper form and consistency. Most importantly, I want to continue remembering that long-term improvement comes from repeated effort and patience, even when progress feels slow at the beginning.
