i feel like shipping shouldn’t be about which ship is morally or narratively or thematically ‘better’ but more about which one makes you want to throw up and write fics and jump about and make playlists and talk to people about it like the need to scream into a pillow about a random rarepair is more valuable to me than thinking about if they’ve even met

Having rare ships on tumblr is great because when you look at the tag it's full of people going "fuck yeah concrete!!!" instead of fighting each other to the death with their popular ships. But also since you're at the edge of the war zone you're kind of starving.
