First photo of the year, first meal of the year. Gotta work on my ketchup game.
First day of the year was pretty easy going, lazed around, made breakfast and everything else was so normal it was forgettable.

◜ ⤻ ⸺ open starter / june 1st
it’s been five days since he left home. katie made friends almost immediately, and of course, he was happy for her. she had trouble back home, where every move she made was scrutinized. here, he was having more trouble getting comfortable. familiar feelings were back, the comfort of every action you take being the wrong one. it was a constant uphill battle, especially when even taking his medicine in front of his bunk-mate made him irrationally nervous. however, his biggest challenge lies in front of him now. about seven children, a tangled volleyball net, and from what he could see at this moment, no other adults around.
So I found this weekly drawing challenge by @drawthatshitt and decided to go for it. It is on week 9 currently but I decided to start from the beginning and draw the first weeks one a day to catch up then go to weekly.
First week was draw yourself in your favorite character’s clothing. So yup. It is really weird drawing myself. I’m not sure I like it lol. Still, I’m determined to see the challenge through since it seems fun soooo, have an Alexis in Solas clothing XD
Week 01 - First Update of 20-Time Woohoo!
Actual Status Updates:
Progress? So far, I have created the rough draft/overall plan of the masterpiece on a separate sheet of paper so I do not end up freestyling everything in an unorganized manner. The art concept was inspired by my favorite shows, movies, and video games, including Steven Universe, Undertale, Studio Ghibli, and Disney! My original plan before creating this draft was to divide the paper into seven parts and incorporate my interests in each part. As you can see, I decided not to divide it into seven parts, but rather six parts, but I will definitely be able to manage my time along the 14-week time span.
Why the adjustments? Finding ways to smoothly move each scene on the image is quite hard to do, especially when the scenes seem like polar opposites (i.e. Kiki’s Delivery Service takes place in the sky, whilst The Little Mermaid takes place in the ocean). I found it easier to divide it into six.
How will you divide your time now? The first two weeks were originally used to work on the seventh piece of the masterpiece, but since I have decided to eliminate it I decided to use the first two weeks in other ways. I have decided to use the first week on planning and dividing the actual page and use the second week to assign the art mediums to each part of the masterpiece.
Any challenges? Right off the bat, I found it hard to somehow match up all of my interests smoothly like how the Earth was organized (i.e. sky, ground, underground OR sky, ground, sea, etc.). I slowly figured out how to transition well between scenes, but I still find problems on the left side of how it abruptly transitions from Mulan to Ariel. Though I think it looks too abrupt, I believe it’ll turn out okay after finishing. Any other problems I had were pretty minimal, like how I wanted to divide it or what poses I wanted to give each scene.
Overall Progress:
Still on track? After adjusting my plan a small bit, I am starting this project on a good note by being right on track! I successfully sketched out a plan/draft for me to follow as I continue this project. Having a plan in hand makes actually drawing it easier so that I would refrain from forgetting my ideas.
What are you going to do next week? Next week I’m planning on actually sketching out the divisions as well as assign the art mediums for each piece. I placed a reminder on all of my electronic devices to bring my large sketchbook so that I will remain on track onwards to the end goal.
Announcements and Other:
How often will you update your progress? I plan on updating every Friday for fourteen weeks or as soon as possible to show my process and how far I am. These posts keep track of my progress and whether or not I’m staying loyal to my plan.
What mediums of art are you going to use? I decided to choose the mediums next week, but I will probably use the following:
Copic ciao markers
Colored pencils/Graphite pencils
Charcoal pencils/materials
Acrylic paints
Pastels
Watercolors
Oil Paints
Regular Markers
Pen/Fine Liners (Black&White)
Other Social Media? Other than this tumblr, I do have a paigeeworld linked here.
Thank you so much for following the development of my masterpiece and I hope you’ll continue to view my updates :)

sprawled out on the ground, he threw an agitated glance at the 8 year olds who left him there. he definitely wasn’t built for intense physical activity. he could barely keep up in gym class. “ they attacked me, daze, they’re evil. “ he said once he was sure they wouldn’t be able to hear him. “ have we not unionized yet? i could make some posters. “ he sat up, brushing the proof of his failure from his hair.

[Week 01 - Tech Thoughts]
Technopreneuship: Result-Driven Assessments
The first week of classes for technopreneurship went great. The instructors for the course conducted a live discussion for students to understand and be enlightened of where we were heading for the course period. They guided us on what we should do to get through the activities. While listening to the discussion, I was enlightened by how great this course would be. Sure enough, it piqued my interest, although it seemed pretty challenging to me. Among the things they made us do are the following:
Form a group of four.
Join the Slack group for technopreneurship.
Take two tests:
Berkeley Innovation Index Test
Myers Briggs Type Indicator
In context, the Berkeley Innovation Index (BII) is a tool that helps people figure out how good they are at coming up with new ideas. Based on the answers to a survey about domain abilities, which are sub-traits that are thought to be necessary for innovation, the index comes up with a score. I took the test for this assessment, and the result came out pretty great. According to the evaluation, my personal innovation mindset level is currently at 89.04 out of 100 - which is already a great number, I guess. I got the highest scores on trust, resilience, diversity, belief, allocation, and comfort zone ranging from 91.67-100. With this test, I realized my strengths and weaknesses regarding the innovation mindset. It allowed me to spot the areas where I could improve myself and assess the relevance of each of the parts of the analysis and recommendations generated by the system.
Myers Briggs Type Indicator, on the other hand, is a self-help assessment test that helps people learn more about how they work and learn. It is a way to build relationships, become more positive, and achieve excellence. It drove me to a more personal level of connection with myself. The assessment is straightforward, and it made me think through my choices and how each situation affects me. For the result, I figured out I am a Protagonist - ENFJ-A.
Basically, it means that my strengths rely more on the extraverted, intuitive, feeling, judging, and assertive side. It also allows one to explore their personality type, which I think is excellent because it enables us to understand our better capabilities and where we can match ourselves in various aspects and areas of our lives such as relationships, workplace habits, career, parenthood, friendships, and romantic relationships. This test is a great way to really take hold of ourselves and realize the potentials we have in us. It helps us determine the types of personalities we have and how we can utilize them to create great relationships with the people around us, use them to make and mark a positive change, and achieve excellence not just for ourselves but also for the betterment of everyone.
Overall, these activities are significant to assess ourselves as individuals and help us achieve a better insight into how we can utilize our strengths and weaknesses to improve and unleash our potential and achieve our goals in the best way that we can.
Week01-5 frustrating UX examples
1. Too many download buttons.
When I was downloading an application from a non-local provider, the download page popped up. This overload of ads and buttons made me confused and assumed that my computer would get viruses.
2. Assistive touch
The only function of this thing is to muting. Other functions are busy and it requires several steps to turn off.
3. Shein
This page has so many texts and colors that looks particularly noisy.
4. Spotify
The video and lyrics are separate. Why don't they make the lyrics float on the video?I sometimes need to glance at the video and miss the lyrics.
5. Baidu wangpan
This is a cloud storage where I store my photos. But there are more and more ads with various icons, which makes the whole page cluttered and disorganized. Luckily, this one will automatically upload photos when you open it, otherwise I wouldn't be able to find the upload button.
Automatic Drawing by Andre Masson, 1924
Automatism drawing is a drawing technique that allows artists to express the subconscious with no control of the mind. This type of drawing technique/ exercise empowers the artists to experiment with endless possibility.
