This kid was so small.

That was Phil’s first thought upon opening his front door—that the kid on his front porch was so small. Too small for the warnings heaped upon Phil by the state, warnings of wild magic and dangerous words, of the treachery and trickery that came hand in hand with the legends of the fae. Phil had known many fae over the course of his lifetime, both kind and cruel. The kid on the front porch just looked like a kid.

He just looked scared.

At sixteen years old, Tommy knew so many things.

He knew that people were predictable and selfish. He knew not to trust, not to take, and not to get comfortable for too long. He knew that the concept of family was as fake as the highlights in his foster mother's hair.

Tommy had known for years that life was painful and had no extra love for some ratty foster kid like him. He knew that it was him and his copy of The Odyssey against the whole world. He knew that he only had to survive long enough to make it to his eighteenth birthday before he could escape.

But when Tommy ends up fostered in the Watson household completely by chance, he finds that maybe he never knew anything in the first place.

or, the one in which Tommy Innit has never really experienced love, family, or belonging, and is suddenly surrounded by it all at once.

Okay yesterday was a pretty busy day, and I am quite exhausted already from today. I have some good news! I got a job, however I might have to move my updates to the weekend though because I’ll be totally overworked during the weekdays. I’m happy though and hope to support my busty future :)

Oh oh tonight going into tomorrow is a New Moon! It might not be special to some but it certainly means a lot to me. It marks a time in my life to let go of the stuff that doesn’t help me and look forward to the things that await me in the future. That also means that September is halfway over omg! Still no cold weather awww.... :(

Ai Weiwei is a contemporary artist and activist of the Chinese avant-garde movement known for his open criticism of the Chinese government. His works are meant to spark controversy in the way they examine tradition and modernity. Ai attended the Beijing Film Academy and Parsons School of Design in New York City and has also served as artistic consultant on the design of the “Bird’s Nest” stadium for Beijing’s 2008 Olympics, and has curated exhibitions worldwide.

Alternatively known as Jun-94, June 1994 was a part of Ai’s “Interlacing” exhibition and book project, which consisted of photos and videos that focused on networking and linking social realities (Ai was arrested around the same time of the completion of this exhibit). Depicted is the young female artist Lu Qing (whom Ai later married) lifting her skirt in front of the iconic portrait of Chairman Mao in Tiananmen Square. The date of this photo, June 1994, marks the 5th anniversary of the infamous Tiananmen Square protests and massacre, drawing attention to both the continuity and change in the social realities of China.
