My favourite scientific theory will always be that we don’t really know for sure if our brains actually pick up colours the same like yes we know the spectrum of what colour your eyes can interpret because of the cones in our eyes and colourblindness but that doesn’t mean that the colour you were taught is red looks exactly the same to someone else in fact that could be how you see the colour blue. Still, you technically have the exact same vision and capability to see colours it’s just how your brain decides to interpret those colours as, like when you little someone told you your block was yellow and then for the rest of your life your like yeah that that’s yellow and and other person agrees because they’ve also been told that’s what yellow looks like but if those two people swapped minds they may point at something that is there body’s version of yellow and say oh that’s yellow and a third person will tell you no that’s red. Like it’s a mostly theoretical theory, like we probably do see colours the same, but we’ll literally never know unless you run your consciousness through someone else's eyeballs. Therefore, you're able to interpret the differences through your own consciousness and its context, rather than through the other person's. I like to think about it sometimes. We’re all in someone else’s disaster land.

maybe this is just whatever but sometimes i think about how reaction vids are so popular to the point of being ubiquitous and then i wonder if it's an indication of a deep-rooted human need for human connection that we're not getting enough of for real, so we find other ways to try & fill that void, and if so, how fucking sad that is and how the fuck do we fix that
