WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?
Back in the 1950s, the fathers of the field Minsky and McCarthy, described artificial intelligence as any task performed by a program or a machine that, if a human carried out the same activity, we would say the human had to apply intelligence to accomplish the task.
AI systems will typically demonstrate at least some of the following behaviors associated with human intelligence: planning, learning, reasoning, problem solving, knowledge representation, perception, motion, and manipulation and, to a lesser extent, social intelligence and creativity.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF AI?
At a very high-level artificial intelligence can be split into two broad types: narrow AI and general AI.
Narrow AI is what we see all around us in computers today: intelligent systems that have been taught or learned how to carry out specific tasks without being explicitly programmed how to do so.
This type of machine intelligence is evident in the speech and language recognition of the Siri virtual assistant on the Apple iPhone, in the vision-recognition systems on self-driving cars, in the recommendation engines that suggest products you might like based on what you bought in the past. Unlike humans, these systems can only learn or be taught how to do specific tasks, which is why they are called narrow AI.
WHAT ARE THE USES FOR AI?
They are many ways to use AI technology in our life.

* Taking over dangerous jobs

*Ā Improved elder care and so on.

It depends on which factor you are interested, will be different. Most common example of AI in modern age is SIRI from apple, Google assistant, Cortana from Microsoft etc. Those are basically for supporting our daily lives. Back in days these AI supporters wasnāt that developed enough and you barely see small differences. However, depends on each developer and users the gap between those becoming bigger. For example, Google recently announced impressive penetration into third-party hardware. Specifically, in four months, it tripled the number of hardware devices that use Assistant ā from January to now, they rose from 1,500 devices to 5,000. (Amazon still dominates, with 12,000 devices.)
Google launched Assistant globally this year and promises to expand from eight languages to āmore than 30ā by the end of the year.
Lots of people love Google Assistant. Literally! When Google launched the Google Home device in India last month, Google executive Rishi Chandra said that some 450,000 Indians had proposed marriage to Google Assistant.
One reason for all that love is that Google Assistant is better, according to one report. A study published this week by the digital marketing firm Stone Temple found that Google Assistant is more accurate than Amazonās Alexa, Siri or Microsoftās Cortana. (Siri was found to be least accurate.)
Near future possibilities for AI assistants
During the last Google conference, they introduced new future to the audience. The future was basically your assistant will talk on the phone for you. When you are busy or not available to take your phone, your assistant will replace your place. Itās not something like leaving voice record but the AI will communicate based on speakerās answers and questions. Although, itās still on beta version it was working completely fine, in addition you can see how they worked on the AI voice impressions to make it more human like. Itās no secret that people are comfortable around more human like AI.
One of the most important traits of AI is constantly learning process. One thing that really seems interesting to me is how AI doing great job in gaming world. Iām not talking about chess or check because those are more like sports.
In video games, artificial intelligence (AI) is used to generate responsive, adaptive or intelligent behaviors primarily in non-player characters (NPCs) similar to human-like intelligence. Artificial intelligence has been an integral part of video games since their inception in the 1950s. The role of AI in video games has expanded greatly since its introduction. Modern games often implement existing techniques from the field of artificial intelligence such as pathfinding and decision trees to guide the actions of NPCs. Additionally, AI is often used in mechanisms which are not immediately visible to the user, such as data mining and procedural-content generation.
Near future of video gaming with AI
Itās very young since video gaming developed to become E-sport. Following that reason pro players has started to born. When I was in high school, I used to watch one of those E-sport competitions. Every year players were becoming more talented and faster due to the developers started to face problems such as too many pro players in the same game area, it was hard to manipulate their skills. But during the Dota2 champion ship 2014 they introduced self-learning NPC and started to challenge most pro players. The game itself has many opportunities to play the game but the AI was beating the pro players one by one and eventually there is no human being can defeat that NPC anymore.
Self-learning NPCās are already starting dominate the video gaming world. However, it was still long way to go because of RTS (real-time Strategy) games until now. I heard about StarCraft started their AI competition among people against bot to foster and evaluate progress of AI research. The game itself can be really complicated because of tone of NPCs and possibilities.
In the end itās already proven that AI can be used for many things. For our daily lives and for research. It seems nice for many factors but it has disadvantages too. Because of AI technology there is lot people can be fired from their job, role. And requirement to get a job will be higher in the future even some people believe that AI could be dominating our world and threats for human kind. Either way I donāt think AI, robot developments will stop, especially during this era. The only thing we can do now is focus on the positive incomes and hoping our future will be brighter with our Artificial friends.
