He Swears It Was an Accident
Ellie really thought she had the whole normal life thing down.
She had a degree, a steady job in R&D at Wayne Enterprises,
and she only occasionally glowed in public.
Some idiot decided to mug her in a dark alley.
And listen—she tried not to react too harshly!
But he swung a knife, and she panicked,
and next thing she knew… there was a body.
So yeah, maybe she freaked out and phased it into the ground.
But it was self-defense! Who was gonna dig there anyway??
Fast forward a few years. Construction starts under the building.
And guess what they find.
Now Ellie’s sitting on her couch, sipping coffee with an ecto chaser,
just waiting for the Bats to show up and ruin her Tuesday.
“Man,” she mutters, “I really can’t have one normal decade, huh?”

Would you like a Damian version next (Ellie working at WE and Damian showing up instead of the full Batfam)?
yes , and give credit any by names
Title: Coffee, Corpses, and Terrible Timing
Ellie swore she had the whole “normal” thing under control.
Degree?
Job at Wayne Enterprises R&D?
Definitely not committing supernatural crimes? ...mostly
Then Gotham decided to be Gotham.
Some random mugger thought jumping a woman with glowing eyes was a good idea.
It was not.
Ellie panicked, swung back—
and, uh… may have accidentally phased him six feet under. Literally.
She figured no one would ever find the guy.
Gotham’s full of skeletons, right? What’s one more?
…Until construction started under the lab.
Now she’s sitting on her couch, clutching her coffee like a lifeline,
watching the Bat-symbol flash through her window.
And when Robin steps in, frowning and holding a case file,
Ellie just sighs.
“Look, before you say anything—”
Damian: “You buried a man in the floor.”
Ellie: “Technically, I phased him into the floor.”
Damian: “That is not better.”
Ellie: “It’s also not my fault Gotham doesn’t come with ghost insurance.”
He stares at her for a long moment, then mutters,
“Father is going to hate this report.”
