I know "Maybe I've stormed out of every single room in this town" is more of an allusion to her bolting tendencies (e.g. that she would blow up and walk out of every relationship), but suddenly also makes me think of the thread between that and -> And I can't talk to you when you're like this / Staring out the window like I'm not your favorite town -> You were my town / Now I'm in exile, seeing you out -> And I'm just getting color back into my face, I'm just mad as hell cause I loved this place for so long
Like on a micro level, every single issue becoming a flash point that leads to a fight she can't possibly win (while he... um... refuses to settle down?).
(a tired @wavesoutbeingtossed who's just grasping at straws but loves how Taylor uses a sense of space as metaphor in her writing)
god i love it when you say things. this just made me think of "my town was a wasteland, full of cages full of fences" in a new light
