thinking about wulfrun being a pale elf from the living lands, the exact opposite edge of the world from where most of her kin reside. probably not a few living landers mistakenly thought she was some type of godlike.

yay the hollowborn crisis is over yippee!
i think ironically act 3 of pillars 1 works so well for me because it's more truncated than the first two acts + white march. from the second you get the vision across the bridge in elmshore, the narrative shifts hard into the main metaphysical conflicts in the story and i love it so much.
it makes me wish that more of the narrative went into exploring the watcher's past with iovara and the inquisition. plus it would do better at selling the "you're awakened and going insane at an alarming rate" tension imo.
seen a lot of chatter on reddit about how the watcher is way stronger than the envoy. and i guess if you look at the events of the games that's definitely true. that's such a boring way to approach these characters tho imo.
personally, and this is true for pretty much any fantasy universe, i find myself assuming magic is going to be the source of the most powerful abilities, because, y'know, it's magic. but that's what i like about eora. even if the magic has the potential for ridiculous power, it's grounded enough to where i can see martial characters standing their ground.
in my headcanon, idunn is by far a better warrior than wulfrun is, but she has not had nearly the breadth of experience of wulfrun. wulfrun by the time of avowed has such a deep connection to both the in-between and the beyond because of her watcher abilities that it absolutely makes sense she and her friends are able to take down archmagi.
it's really funny because idunn would not have ever bothered to learn to cast spells if she hadn't been constantly outnumbered behind enemy lines. so like, she's an above average caster but more than that she's deadly quick with a blade. so i think if given the opportunity to continue her story, she'd be capable of performing similar feats to the watcher (aka killing dragons and archmagi and all that).
Wulfrun, Préauton 2823 AI
quick sketch of an outfit idea i had for wulfrun after always using the engwithan greaves and gauntlets in avowed. still not good at drawing faces or doing anything that requires much detail, but i found a neat way to make her sword all aflame.
taking a cheeky lil sail through the deadfire.
hey what's that over there? looks like wreckage. no i don't care that there's a triple red skull pirate on the horizon, there's flotsam to investigate.
whoa! look! it's my favorite blorbo floating half dead in the water. bring him on board, boys!

thinking about how wulfrun went from paradis being the biggest city she'd ever seen to defiance bay. but then she ends up in neketaka. like climbing a ladder of urban splendor.
post avowed fic where watcher wulfrun returns to the living lands and meets envoy idunn as idunn is burdened with nation building. then they set off on an expedition to petition an alliance with yezuha. rekke and aloth and kai and yatzli and maybe more of the crew go along, of course.
The Living Lands, Tarivèrno 2823 AI -
The Woedican was no longer alone. New arrivals from Highcrown had appeared just days before the pass was snowed in on the New Year, haughty and glimmering with gold filigreed armor and black tabards sporting the broken crown. Patronizing. Polite to a fault. Wulfrun did not like them. Yet even on this plateau, in its relative safety, the wilds were never far from encroaching, so when it came to the security of the Dales she was to endure them. And she did until the day of the hollowing.
