A wild old Rekke sketch appeared on my notifs, and I recently found old doodle comic pages while browsing my archive, so posting them together because he is quite the cutie, ta?
I love PoE so much so I had to do a little something 🧡✨
If you're interested ; Here's the link 🍊❗
Holy crap Lois, I actually drew something
Been into Pillars of Eternity lately. Rekke told me to take him home so he can show how fun he can be and I folded like a lawn chair, cool cool... gnaws the bars of enclosure

honestly impressive how cheerful rekke is tbh. Imagine getting voluntold to go be a missionary across the ocean and through deadly storms. Your ship goes down and everyone but you dies, you're stuck floating on driftwood until a random ship picks you up you don't speak the local language at all yet but the weird captain keeps dragging you into fights which hey yay you're great at fights so there's that! And you do exactly 0 actual missionary stuff the entire time.
Rekke
As reimagined in Baldur's Gate 3
I was just going to poke around some flotsam for hardtack and pyres, but instead I pulled this beautiful, silly man out of the sea (and into Baldur's Gate 3!)
Rekke is such a tease (and I don't just mean because I can't romance him) but because the implications of Yezuha are just so fascinating and I need to know MORE. I do like the theory that the Ekidans in Avowed were originally from Yezuha, given the story of their exile and similar features.
Side note, I really can't tell what color his eyes are supposed to be in the game. They look sort of greyish in his portrait and brown for his model, but most of the fan art of him usually have them as green? Ah well, here he is as a monk with his magical color-changing eyes.

thinking about deadfire from rekke's pov is so funny.
you're sent off on a missionary trip into essentially death at the hands of the storms of ondra's mortar. but you survive adrift on the flotsam for who knows how long, the only one of your group, when along comes the watcher dragging you out of the sea.
you spend time traveling with these hella weird kith and learn their language. and all the while the rando who saved you drags you around from one peril to another so they can sit and have staring contests with ghosts. even if you wanted to get the hell away from all this, you feel honor bound because they saved your life.
and all these battles are one thing, but one day the watcher sails you into the heart of a volcano to have a friendly chat with god. plus you learn god is marching his merry way to breaking the world. you can't decide if that's the weirdest thing or if it's then finding yourself in the guts of wael's tentacled titan.
like, all the companions not from the first game probably had absolutely no idea just how fucking wacky the places they'd end up at were going to be. but something about rekke getting dragged around like a kid stuck with mom doing her errands just tickles me. especially when the punchline is now this missionary finds himself face to face with god in the middle of a volcano.
