one thing i think is often overlooked by the house of wax fanbase is the movie that plays in the ambrose theater when carly and nick walk in -- "what ever happened to baby jane?"

i got curious and looked into the plot of the movie to see if it was relevant and holy fuck.

if you don't wanna read the plot yourself, its basically a movie about two sisters, one of which is a child star named baby jane, and the other is blanche, who lives in her sister's shadow and resents her for it until jane's style of show goes out of fashion and blanche finds success of her own.

i won't bore you with the details, but essentially they have a very dysfunctional relationship wherein blanche frames jane for a car accident that paralyzes her, and jane isolates blanche and keeps her captive in their mansion in order to stop her from selling the house.

and just... the director's choice to make that the movie that plays in the theater of ambrose makes me wonder what exactly was going on in bo and vincent's relationship that we just didn't get to see and will likely never see again....

everything about Soliman mwq is such a massive question mark (what's his actual name? where is he from? how did he end up in europe? the narration implies that his story about being a kidnapped prince is fake but the presented backstory is wild without providing any details - who was he actually, before ending up in Arnheim's hands? what language was he speaking to confuse Rachel? he's educated and described as at least somewhat interested in the proceedings of the parallel campaign - what specific opinions does he have? why is he excited about war? is it just naiveity or is there something more? he clearly hates Arnheim's guts - how does Arnheim treat him, really?) and you can tell that musil 1. didn't really think through the implications of this character2. didn't think any of this was important enough to resolve for racist reasons and it PISSES ME OFF
