We are having an unusual cold and rainy winter here in Southern California, which might not be always pleasant but is actually a very good thing. We need the rain so desperately after five years of drought. No snow, of course! But there are signs of spring in my garden, like these flowering snowflakes (Leucojum vernum). While this little snowflake clumb may not make for a photo that will go viral on Instagram, it means so much to me. I love snowdrops, maybe because they remind me of Germany where I was born, but I can’t grow them here in San Diego, so snowflakes are my alternative. The few bulbs that I planted, I think three years ago, have slowly multiplied and each year their blooms make me so happy. Are there any flowers or plants that warm your heart that might not be impressive to anybody else, but mean so much to you? . . . #snowflakes #leucojumvernum #springbulbs #snowflakebulbs #white #whiteflowers #whitespringbulbs #organicgardendreams #inmygarden #inmygardentoday #gardening #privategarden #privategardens #sandiego #southerncalifornia #warmyourheart (at San Diego, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt_bDmilGZL/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ssigpxie2bik
