#warframe roundtable

Alright I'll start off with Roathe, things are good! I didn't need to reset again, and he's honestly thinking about the future now! He even said thank you (even if it was indirectly).

Needless to say, we're now homies and it WAS worth the reset. (I'm not sure if I can still screw things up tho since we're still "Close", but I want to believe that I'm in the clear.)

I got the Hex to play F&F this time round, something I didn't do in my first play through so that's great!

Besties with everyone in the Round Table. EZ PZ.

Everything is going pretty well.

Now...I wanna talk about Arthur and Lyon.

I committed to Arthur again this time round because of course I did and I gotta say...I forgot how abrasive he can be at times, especially when things get serious. I know he knows that his temper gets the better of him but if I'm being honest...low-key...I was starting to reconsider my life choices.

I bring up Lyon because I noticed that he's abrasive at the start, but he acknowledges his flaws whilst also apologizing for said flaws and looks to improve upon them and not use them as an excuse to not progress forward. Which makes me love talking to him and easily willing to be more patient because I can see that he's definitely trying to work through his issues and overall I enjoy it! Writing team cooked.

(And I've seen the way he talks to Drifter when they're together, and he's just so sweet. The honest, heartfelt, unintentional rizz is the best kind.)

With Arthur, it's kinda the opposite, which I think may be by design. Arthur's being confronted with the reality that he loves someone and is afraid to lose them, and he ends up looking for reasons to push the other away as a protective measure. Totally get that. And yet...I don't know...with Arthur in a way it's like: What you see is what you get. And with Lyon it's: What you see is what you get, but even I don't like what I'm seeing, so I will try to change what you see.

In a Rank 5 convo with Arthur when you're dating, he's trying to express his worries about Drifter needing to leave 1999 to go back in the present. Albeit a bad job of saying what he really wants to say because he doesn't start off by being completely transparent. “(ノ _ <,, )

At some point Arthur says one day Drifter's gonna leave and never come back. I chose "Says who?" he says "Common sense." I said "Common sense? Or fear?" and he says "I'm not afraid. I was fine before you. I'll be fine after you."

Now I've seen this line before, but it still cuts when I read it. Like Arthur forgets that he and the Hex were more disjointed than a dismembered body before Drifter showed up.

No joke, that probably would have been a dealbreaker for me. I probably would have said something like: "Really? Alright, fair enough." [End.]

Like its bad enough I ended up confessing with my back against the wall after being angrily asked why I wanted to stay and that I was either stupid or crazy for wanting to stay. (Ah and didn't apologize btw)

To then be told: I'd be okay without you because I was once okay without you?

My Drifter would have crashed out if she had the chance. Like Arthur, I love you...but don't piss me off. You quite literally would have died and stayed dead along with everyone else. Get off the high horse.

I'll mention that The Hex was testing my patience in general, so I wouldn't be surprised if that impacted my overall experience this time round. Mostly Lettie, Quincy and Arthur to be honest. I find that Eleanor, Aoi and Amir are nice to talk to.

What I appreciate about Lyon is that he's just honest and to the point where it matters, and I know that Arthur's been through a lot, and he's afraid of letting people in, but heck even being honest about that would have been great...or an apology for being so mean...

Lol which leads me into my next point.

I know Drifter is seeking the Hex as the romanceable option, and you have to play the game the right way in order to win them over as most romance games go. But it makes me wonder and kinda wish that the Hex, Roundtable, etc. were able to fumble Drifter instead of it being all on Drifter who messes things up. I know we can cut conversations short, but it's not the same. Like why does poor Drifter have to get their feelings hurt?

Now don't get me wrong, Drifter can stand up for themselves, but the tricky part is that you don't know when and how. You don't get the fullness of what you're going to say until you get part of the conversation going. And, you may want to stand up for yourself, but it's at the cost of the relationship and Drifter is made the problem. Hence, in Drifter's notes in the messages where they always say something along the lines of "I messed up."

Not to mention a string of words can be interpreted one way and lead to an outcome you weren't intending or visa versa, out of fear of picking the bad option or aggravating an already sensitive conversation, you pick the route that you know is the good one even if it doesn't align with who Drifter is. Some choices are a bit more clear than others and that adds to the tricky nature of navigating the conversations.

But I guess this is what fanfiction is for, right? Lol

Regardless! I still very much love the KIM system though, and I love how engaging the conversations are and how fleshed out everyone is and being able to write Drifter's story as the conversations are taking place. I do look forward to seeing what the devs will do with the KIM system as the game progresses.

Unrelated but I saw the most recent dev stream and we eatin good. I'm ready for late March and the reveal of Styanax Prime. No it wasn't announced, and I don't have proof but considering the next prime reveal is going to be at Pax East, it's gotta be him and I'm excited.
