I don't want the 2ha live action adaptation.
SPOILERS.
I really really don't. The thing that makes 2ha such a beautiful story is the love story between Chu Wanning and Mo Ran. Which, by the way, is one of the greatest loves stories of all time and that will be written on my grave. Shi Mei's gender and his feminization by everyone around him is a very compelling point of his character, and something which further adds a layer to his love for Chu Wanning. The sex is painful and messy half of the time because it's a refelection of what the flower did to Mo Ran, and how his love for Chu Wanning still emerged. It's pivotal to their story.
2ha isn't a novel that puts less focus on the love story and more on the plot and action, something that can be adapted by turning the two male leads into bros like a lot of Chinese danmeis which were adapted. It's put equal and greater emphasis on these two characters and their trails and tribunals, the shit they had to go through, and still love each other at the end; and in a good way. It puts focus on these characters sexualities.
And that's why this live action will be a grave injustice to this wonderful novel. I would love to see 2ha adapted. But when the adaptation takes away everything I loved about this story away, I'd rather it be preserved I'm Meatbun's wonderful writing and storytelling than to be absolutely butchered with this adaptation.
To add to that, the adaptation has two wonderful amazing actors as it's leads. Especially the actor for chu wanning, he's casting perfection. But I'll be honest, what have they done to Taxian Jun? The makeup and hair is horrid I'm sorry. He looks like something straight out of a cheap third rate movie.
That's not Taxian Jun.
That's not Shi Mei.
This isn't Mo Ran and Chu Wanning's story.
I know a lot of people are looking forward to the adaption, and please by all means do. But yes I don't think anything will change my mind about THIS live action. THIS story.
(I put this up on reddit too so if you think it's familiar than yes😭)
Made these because I have to ration out finishing this show, but it's all I can think about part two here

Chu Wanning’s insecurity about his age, his looks, and his personality is not a thing to laugh at or feel irritated by. Meatbun has captured his human emotions so perfectly that it moved my heart. I can be louder in any discussion saying that Wanning is the best character of all, & I love him. From my personal experience, I can relate to his feelings, and for that, I know that his worries and insecurities are more than valid. People who are saying it disgusts them when Wanning is insecure about his age or his looks, have never been through certain stages or situations in life, or maybe they’re very young. However, being young and naive doesn’t mean you can ignore human feelings.
