It’s the sound of music that catches his ears. He is familiar with music. Bentley always played music where ever he went. Bentley’s music were always loud and fast paced, but this one is different. It’s soft, slow, and melodic. Is that someone’s voice? 

Curiously the Monkey King cautiously makes way toward the source of this mysterious music until he’s come across a person. Sun stays hidden behind a massive tree. In fact, he climbs this tree with ease, but sneakily so he can watch from above. 

Wow...

Sun’s never heard such a lovely voice. 

Oh, you wish to hear of my world? Hmm, let me see, I should have a book right around... Ah, there we are.

Ah, you might like this one. Their name is Kiwifruit, actually. A traveller and otherwise do-gooder who travelled the kingdoms, doing all manner of little quests and odd jobs that were... not taken care of by the Legendary Hero. The hero has a habit of taking on some and then ignoring the rest, you see, and he does not care much after the job is done, let us say. It was a welcome service.

“Thank you so much for offering to help! I really appreciate it.” And she is sure to remember to treat them to something nice to eat for all of their trouble. “I don’t live too far from here.” It’s said to reassure so they know they didn’t have to walk too long. 

She should’ve brought her vehicle. She needs to use that thing more often, really. 

At first, working at the quietest little coffee shop in the Ward had been a welcome reprieve from the previous chaos of the city. As the days stretch on, however, with a sharp decline in near-death experiences to keep his attention, Stone’s found himself with more and more time to consider his current situation.

It’s left him standing alone and forlorn behind the shop counter during a particularly slow shift, sighing to himself and wondering how long it’ll take for an infinitely-powerful Robotnik to reach this side of reality.

Stone is mercifully shaken from his thoughts by the soft chime of the bell above the door announcing the presence of an actual customer-- the first to come in all day. The stranger is somewhat oddly dressed, but otherwise appears human, making them one of the most “normal” people Agent Stone has seen so far. Whether that normalcy extends to their personality remains to be seen.

“Welcome to Golden Coffee!” It’s not the Mean Bean, not yet-- even the simple joy of taking over coffee shops by force following through on the Doctor’s manifesto has been dulled by the absence of his adorable badnik helpers. Stone will get there eventually, but for now he’s more or less content just to be doing something familiar as he gets his bearings and prepares for the real work to come.

Cosmo was at Spirale’s park. Playing with the remote-controlled toy boat they built. They maneuver it and watch it float in the waters of the pond, when suddenly the sound of singing reached their ears. As curious as ever, they scoop up their toy boat and walk over to the source of the noise.

... It's very bright. I suppose that's not unusual for you, Kiwi. But I admire this myriad of colors contained inside of it. There's a bright yellow crescent moon in the middle. Hmm. I like this one quite a lot, actually.

           THAT  IS  quite  the  complicated  question  ,  with  an  equally  complicated  answer.  byleth  has  shown  BOTH  SIDES  of  that  coin. on  the  one  hand  ,  she  grew  up  as  a  mercenary.  giving  mercy  was  a  luxury  she  likely  didn’t  have  very  often.  likewise  ,  when  push  comes  to  shove  she  is  MORE  than  capable  of  hunting  down  foes  like  prey  when  they  have  committed  an  egregious  sin  against  herself  or  those  close  to  her.  (see:  kronya  ,  after  murdering  her  father  ,  all  routes)  and  although  much  harder  for  her  ,  she  is  capable  of  putting  her  own  feelings  aside  to  do  what  she  must.  (see:  killing  edelgard  in  the  silver  snow  route.) 

           HOWEVER  ,  as  far  as  a  certain  AU  warriors  installment  is  concerned  ,  byleth  even  at  her  most  cold  will  STILL  grant  mercy  when  death  is  not  a  foregone  conclusion.  and  ,  as  far  as  the  base  game  is  concerned  ,  at  even  her  LOWEST  POINT  (the  crimson  flower  route)  byleth  is  the  only.  person.  capable  of  sparing  seteth  and  flayn.  and  this  is  even  AFTER  edelgard’s  entire  spiel  about  the  nabateans   being  ,  and  i  quote  ,  “. . .creature[s] that can merely masquerade as a human at will. . .”  /  “monsters that have controlled fódlan in secret for far too long” - AND  AGREEING  WITH  HER.  so  ,  too  ,  even  when  she  is  wholly  convinced  to  fight  against  what  remains  of  her  own  heritage  ,  byleth  is  capable  of  granting  mercy  and  willing  to.  even  if  it  means  this  mercy  is  gifted  in  complete  secret.  (if  edelgard  or  any  other  non-byleth  unit  faces  the  nabateans  ,  they’re  slated  for  death.  it’s  actually  only  byleth  who  can  have  the  option to  spare  them.)

         that  is  also  not  accounting  for  the  fact  that  in  her  most  compassionate  route  (azure  moon)  ,  byleth  goes  out  of  her  way  to  grant  dimitri  mercy  by  killing  his  hostage  before  he  can  continue  to  taint  himself  with  more  bloodshed.  she  took  that  burden  upon  herself  -  but  in  doing  so  also  committed  a  war  crime  against  a  defenseless  enemy.  so  ,  really  the  question  is  not  only  if  that  was  MORALLY  CORRECT  but  if  it  was  ,  in  fact  ,  truly  merciful.  in  the  long  run  it  worked  out  in  her  and  dimitri’s  favor  ,  but  that  was  still  a  life  lost.

            all  that  in  mind  ,  i  would  say  that  byleth  ,  INNATELY  ,  is  one  who  values  mercy  more  than  death  and  war.  i’d  go  as  far  as  to  say  that  giving  grace  (especially  to  those  she  holds  dear)  may  even  be  one  of  her  core  values.  she  ,  of  course  ,  also  understands  the  importance  of  a  fight  -  especially  for  one’s  own  beliefs.  she  may  even  consider  it  a  necessary  part  of  life  ,  even  if  it  OUGHT  to  be  a  last  resort.
