Twilight Princess headcanons pt.3
Twili edition yaaayy
Almost all Twili are born with black and white, or greyish skin. Very occasionally a solid toned child will be born, but unique markings are so common that expecting parents will make guesses on what sort of natural patterns their child will have.
The striking crimson eyes Midna has are a trait unique to the royal family. The typical eye colors for non-royal descendants are shades of orange, yellow, and even yellow-green.
The blue markings are not natural though, and are instead ritually tattooed to represent a unique type of magic that an individual excells at, or family crests, for example. The ritual of tattooing is an extremely important part of Twili culture, and to opt out is generally frowned upon or at the very least viewed as āweirdā
Wallmasters are commonly kept as pets in the Twilight realm. Theyāre more docile than the ones from the Light realm, easy to care for, donāt require a lot of attention, and they make good āguard dogsā (Side note: when Link learned that the Twili keep those things as pets he was terribly unnerved. Midna was... unsympathetic to say the least, and taunted him with a ācute widdle baby wallmasterā)

Link gripped his thigh with both hands, trying to stave off the bleeding. He was alone, for now. The deep, dark quiet of the Forest Temple, the cool dampness of it, reminded him of home in a way. If home was more like the castle, and full of hungry spirits and horrors.
The wound oozed red and black, and he tipped his head back against the wall as the room spun. He knew he shouldnāt scream. He knew he shouldnāt cry.
He had been an adult for all of three days, after all, and adults did neither of those things.
His closed his eyes and just tried to breathe. Two ghosts down. That meant he was halfway to finding Saria. Hyrule was so vast, and the prospect of braving another four temples after this place almost too horrifying to contemplate, but Saria was his friend, and she needed him. He focused on that, drank a little solace from it. And then a chill ran down his neck, the stirring of a cool wind passing over clammy skin, and his eyes split open.
He wasnāt alone.
I fully believe that Wallmasters are the most annoying and the most anxiety-inducing Zelda enemies
It's Legend of Zelda confession time once again!
So, I didn't know a lot about LOZ when I first got into LU. Pretty much just the basic basics. About six months post the LU-ening, I started playing Zelda '86. I'm wandering through one of the dungeons and blunder into a room and discover one of these little dudes:
'Oh!' I say! It's a Wallmaster! Like in that one comic! Excellent! I just have to do what the comic showed, and stab when it tries to grab me, and that'll kill it.
It did not, in fact, kill it.
This was the beginning of a long tale of Wallmaster-inspired terror, which brings us to me, today, screaming in rage as the stupid wall hand drops me back at the beginning of the dungeon I was PAINSTAKINGLY NAVIGATING

FUCK THE WALLMASTERS.Ā
(Side note: There is something about disembodied hands attacking me that really, really freaks me out. I can deal with most every other monster in any of the Zelda games, but FUCK THE WALLMASTERS, SERIOUSLY (Also, those two hands in Twilight Princess that chased you in the twilight realm when you carried the orbs away and had music that starting screeching at you as they got closer and OH MY GOD I'm getting tense just thinking about them))
