Meh, not much to say about today’s workout. Knee is at that frustrating part of recovery where it feels pretty normal, but you know you still can’t push it.
Part 1: E2M cleans. 3-2-2-1-1-1-1 started at 65, worked up to 95, kept the knees under control.
Part 2: 2RFT, goal was to move fast with minimal breaks
30 wall balls (14 pounds)
25 hanging power cleans (65 pounds)
20 hanging leg raises
7:55
Chalking this up as a mental/discipline victory, because I really didn’t feel like going today.
WOD #3 & #4
1/8/18
I overslept on Monday and ended up going to the 5:30pm class instead of my usual 7am. It was the same coach, but a different group of classmates. I was kinda anxious about that, but everything turned out just fine.
Pre-WOD was Deadlift 3x5, which I did @ 75lb. WOD was the benchmark WOD “Diane”. I scaled down and did 21-15-9 reps of 65lb Deadlifts and 13lb DB press. I finished in 7:11. I need a set of 15lb dumbbells. 20lb is too heavy for me to strict press, but 10lb is too easy. I need more middle ground!
1/10/18
Today’s pre-WOD was back squats. I worked on getting as low as I can while keeping my chest upright. Kept it pretty light cause I’m still terrible at squatting form.
The WOD itself was again the 21-15-9 rep scheme, this time being wallballs (I did 6lb) and row for calories. I finished in 7:24.

Obsessed with this little crossfit family 😍 the kiddies hitting 17.4 like champs
OMG, the new gym puppy (Willie Nelson!!!) is dope af.
Today’s workout is definitely going to help me sleep on the long flight to Amsterdam later today. Yikes.
Part 1: 5 rounds of handstand work. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but these are so hard for me, both physically and mentally. If you’re upside down when climbing, something has gone very wrong. Almost three years of climbing has ingrained that in my brain, so breaking that mental block is gonna take lots of practice. Anyway.
30 seconds in a headstand hold with knees on my elbows, 60 seconds rest, 30 seconds handstand against the wall practicing shoulder shifts (can’t do taps yet), 60 seconds rest.
Part 2: AMRAP/15 minutes
20 wall balls
15 bar facing burpees with a jump over the bar between each
10 deadlifts (95 pounds for me)
Got 3 complete rounds + 26 reps into the 4th.
Had a lot of fun with the second part, but those upside down movements are rough. Apparently getting inverted on a consistent basis helps you live longer though, so at least there’s that?
