as for walker i lost interest once i saw how he has to bring everything from supernatural to his new show! its not cool you chose to start fresh and shine on your own freakin do that he said he wants to last more than spn its fine by me but then leave spn alone and do just that
I’ve seen a lot of people having the same issue! I mean if you wanna throw a nod to the show and the show’s fans, that’s just fine, but bringing in so much and trying to make “Walker Family” happen is like trying to make fetch happen. It’s not going to happen!Â
Supernatural was on for 15 years, they built that family over years of hardwork and dedication. It wasn’t just like “This new show called Supernatural is starting! SPN family! Yay!” It took time. Plus, it felt more organic in a way, everyone involved and the fans really did become like a family.Â
With Walker, Jared’s trying so hard to shoe-horn the family and Easter eggs into the fans. Obviously he knew that fans from SPN were going to follow him over to this one, but him pushing it so hard and trying to capture that same magic again comes off as completely disingenuous. It’s like he’s constantly trying to appeal to the fans to sucker them into the show. I thought that when he said he wanted Jensen to direct (maybe star? I don’t remember) he was trying to make sure the fans held on long enough for that. He’s stupid, but not stupid, he knows that the fans will eat up everything he does, and some will watch a crappy show just because he’s on it.Â
Him wanting it to last longer than SPN is laughable and also a bit insulting? Like this show got you where you are now, and not even a year after that 15 year saga came to an end, he’s already trying to pimp this show and push it to be the next Supernatural. Is he high? Even the original only had 8 seasons, and I’m sure they had to be gasping at straws at that point. Plus, in the old Walker show, it wasn’t just family drama and sappy shit, there were other stories that kept it going like other cop shows. Even if the show wasn’t a turd in a dress, I don’t think it could be what Supernatural was and the sooner Jared realizes that, maybe we’ll get somewhere.
