Walker Characters Rated
CW's Walker came out in 2021, staring Jared Padalecki as Cordell Walker, who was also the Executive Producer of the show. It ran for four seasons and despite a good viewership it was cancelled in 2025 owning to the network's change in programming strategy. Walker gave its viewers a family of characters both blood and otherwise. But, not characters were best and sadly, some of the better ones weren't in for the long run. So here's my list of characters that were the Best, Neutral or absolutely Worst. The ranking is in no way in order of merit. Show spoilers are to be expected
Best: these are the characters that were not only written well but also portrayed well by the actors that played them
Micki Ramirez: what a shame we didn't see this character until the end. Micki was the other side of the same coin as Cordell. Their chemistry was brilliant and interesting to watch. Her chemistry with Trey was adorable too. She kept Cordell in line but also had his back. Her character was lovely, a mix of soft and strong until the Garrison arc.
Liam Walker: absolute sweetheart. Loved him when he was a kickass attorney, loved him when he vocally hated the Davidsons, loved him when he stepped in to take care of kids, loved him when suffered through PTSD after his kidnapping and loved him when he helped Stella through her PTSD. One of the saint characters that had a lot of shit thrown at him. Also for once, I'm glad that they didn't make his sexuality a whole thing about his character. Can't fault this one.
August Walker: yes, he can be dumb like Stella sometimes but he really is the better one between the two. He is sweet, funny, protective, annoying in the younger sibling kinda way but still a lot better and a lot less selfish than Stella is. Kale did a good job in portraying his goofiness and his quiet maturity. and honestly, he really looks like their son too.
Captain Larry James: kinda those authority characters you love to root for. A man of principles but also someone who knows people well. I can see why he was promoted to Captain. He has strong leadership skills, draws lines between professional and personal relationship (in reference to Cordell and not his own lol) and is an honest man. Coby did a great job with him
Trey Barnett: he came for Micki but stayed for the Walkers. A man with too many careers: army medic, coach, ranger, drill sergeant but he did it all effortless. Jeff came across as a sweet coach you could rely on for good guidance. His chemistry with Micki was fire. Kinda rooted for Tricki until the show ended, hoping Lindsey would return for one last scene. Actually, his chemistry with all characters is amazing: Micki, Cordell, Captain James, the kids, Liam, when Cassie.
Kevin Golden: was golden indeed and we have Jake Abel to thank for. Jake Abel is the poster boy for snake but he plays them so well. He certainly suits into negative arcs and like SPN, he did it well in Walker too.
Clint West: A+ villian in the show. He was ruthless, he held a grudge and he was not afraid to cross lines. For a robber, he wasn't afraid to improvise his cons.
Neutral: characters that had potential but lacked the support of good writing or good story arcs
Cordell Walker: it pains me to not put Cordell in the Best section but the truth is his character felt pushed aside in a lot of instances. This is entirely writing fault because S1 Walker was very strong. A man chasing a chance for revenge, a bit of rebel at heart, struggling single parent.. it was so brilliantly done. S2 onwards, his character seem to be in shadows shining mostly during climax arcs. There was so much potential to use Jared's physique to showcase his physical strength and his depth for emotional range but somewhere in the show his character was pushed aside. This is extensively evident in S4 that focused more on Stella's plot and Luna and Cassie's love story than Cordell. I'm also not sure why Walker has a bumbling speech. I don't know if it's meant to a be character trait or a Jared trait
Emily Walker: here me out. The only thing that prevented me from putting Emily into the worst list is she worked better as Cordell's voice of reason than his wife. Being the dead wife and all, i don't think they planned on exploring her character a lot so I get we didn't see much of her. But it was still a nice way to include in.
Twyla-Jean: and Cordell gave me Neal and Sara in another universe vibes. I loved their undercover story, her character was interesting, someone who was not afraid to draw outside the lines. She was one of those characters you might regret trusting but she had a sweet side to her. Her chemistry with Cordell was the hottest thing in that show and it's a shame they didn't explore it further. Her character had so much potential but instead they picked Geri
Stan Morrison: i always thought his character was kinda interesting. Someone politically strong, involved in sketchy murder but close to the family of the person he offed who does everything to stop the truth from unfolding. It would have been interesting if they played on this in S2 but instead gave us those stupid Davidsons.
Worst: every show has got them. Why should this be different?
Stella Walker: i craved so much for father-daughter moments but all we got was Stella making one stupid decision after another: the marijuana possession, letting Cordell believe he crashed the car on that stump, dating Trevor, running away with Trevor knowing he is Clint's son, dating the Davidsons' kid, getting the Mustang stolen, her college dilemma, the Witt situation. Like they tried to portray her as sweet, angel child but she was not. Her wardrobe was cool though.
Geraldine Broussard: honestly, I tried very hard to like her in my second re-watch but I just couldn't. It was interesting when they initially showed her as someone possibly involved with Northside Nation but as soon as they pushed her to be Cordell's love interest, she just flatlined for me. Zero chemistry from her side. She always came across as frigid and with a better-than-you superiority. None of the emotional moments between her and Cordell really resonated for me. Her anger towards Abby was kinda dumb when she found out Abby knew about the Davidsons' child. Maybe go ask your mother why your father confided in his ex but not her
Cassie Perez: Nothing against Ashley Reyes but I did not like Cassie. She was narcissistic, very impulsive, overly involved in Walker family from the start. always thought if she justified her actions then it was square. I hated her even more when she blamed Cordell for Luna's death. Newsflash: deaths are occupational hazard in your field
Cordell's Parents: I always felt they had one rule book for everyone and a different one for Cordell. Either they sided with kids or Liam or outsiders like Hoyt but never with Cordell. There's a point where Bon kinda suggests Cordell to leave the ranch. I mean what? Speaking of Bon, his cancer arc was kinda unnecessary and never talked about again post S1. Abby always had her secrets and a secret affair which was again a bit unnecessary.
Hoyt Rawlins: nothing against Matt Barr, but I never got the hype around his character. He was always trouble and nothing about him was cute, really.
Davidsons: gosh they were like annoying neighbours from Hell. More family drama than Ranger business honestly. Gale Davidson was so bitter, she shrouded the air with her bitterness. Dennis was stuck up being high and mighty in her DA profile. Dan Miller was just cowardly and pathetic. Colton felt like a charity case for Stella.
Sadie Yoo: i guess the apple really doesn't fall free from the tree. Like Hoyt, Walker was right when he said she was trouble. All she brought was trouble and bad attitude. Like kids, act your age.
Ofcourse there are more characters in the show than this but I've kept the ones that were integral to the show. It was a mix bag of good and bad characters with this one but the annoying bit was, the bad ones got more screentime and story arcs which was unfortunate.
Walker S04E02 Maybe it's Maybelline
i love Augie's coyote on motorbike t-shirt
Ranger Parker ππ
Maybelline to Cordell: looks like it's just me and you, toothpicks ππ
Walker's conversation with Maybelline at the dining table was gold
Losing Maybelline was Cassie's fault
i didn't like how they undermined Walker in this episode
Stella's plot felt way over the top
Also, I found it strange that they didn't show Cordell's reaction to his daughter killing someone in self defence
Good night with Cordi being angry with his annoying teenage brats.
Walker S03E05 Mum's the Word
Omg Cordell in that black/navy shirt looks so fine π
The evidence box was a good bit. Lol the fact that they went through every single thing in the box
Awww Liam is so cute and charming
Every show has made a comment about how tall Jared is: Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Walker, House of Wax, Friday the 13th
This show tends to be sentimental and i kinda like that.. it's not just action.. there's is drama and family themes.. I love the fact that this is one show I can watch with family without worrying about flashy nudity
August, you brat
I like the layout of their ranger office especially the break room in the middle
Cordell is so absent in his children's lives
I love stella's wardrobe
Oooooo leaving Stella to rot in the cell was cold

Walker S03E03 Rubber Meets the Road
Still feeling bad about Liam and the fact that Cordell didn't realise his brother was more affected by the torture than he was
Cordi: deep V.. you're not digging the deep V? I don't know about Geri, but I'm definitely digging the deep V
Cordi giving the graduation speech ...yeah he's alright.. sure...
Gotta hand it to the kids..they managed to hide the car theft for two whole months
Ok but the whole scene about how they got the car back was kinda lame.. the hot wiring was fun but that woman caving after listening to Stella's sob story and handing the car back without a fight was so lame. I was expecting the kids to be in trouble and Cordell saving their ass
Cordell getting pissed was so nice
Also, how are parents just ok if their kids say they don't want to go to college. Mine would be pissed
I love Cordell Stella moments so much!!
Did they not assign a therapist to Liam?
Jared does PTSD character arcs so well!!
Walker S02E20 Something's Missing
Ughh I'm a sucker for Stella and Cordi scenes! Sad we didn't get more of those
Cordell's cute wink!
Anyone else noticed that Jared's right ear gets pinkier than his left one?
Gale about Dan to Denise: speaking of being in love with the wrong person
Denise: didn't dad propose to Abby Walker before marrying you? ππ
the audacity to kill Marv herself and then blame it on a 12 year boy? Really Gale?? What a bitch! Also, wtf was wrong with Marv. He sounds like an idiot really.. i mean who hides a child from his own wife and then confesses to the ex-fiance?
Jared's characters and fires! Jess' death, meltdown in Trudy's wax museum and now this barn fire
like mother, like daughter i guess
Feel bad for Colton.. to be adopted into the Davidsons family
oh so Stella's middle name really is Blue? I thought that's just something Cordell calls her affectionately
The way Cordell took running on his long legs π
And that's a wrap for S2. Overall good season, not super intense like the first one.. oh and I hated Dan Miller so much!
stella used to play basketball???
"no, soccer, now." "she's doing that again?" "she must have missed it."
