Warner Bros. Confirms Patty Jenkins Will Direct “Wonder Woman 2”

It’s official.  Warner Brothers has confirmed that Patty Jenkins will be returning to direct the sequel to the immensely popular Wonder Woman movie, reported Variety.  If all goes well, Wonder Woman 2 will be released December 13, 2019, just in time for the Christmas/Hanukkah/Solstice holidays.

So in Massachusetts, where I stay, the minimum wage is $10.00 an hour, 60% of minimum wage workers are women, and tipped minimum wage is 3.35. 

Interestingly, I noticed that states that have higher percentage of women working minimum wage, the actual wages tend to be lower. For example - in New Hampshire, literally a 2 hour drive away from me - 75% of minimum wage workers are women and the wage drops down to 7.25. 

The data can be interpreted many ways, and I’m interested to see what other people find, but it was hard for me to find states that reported to have above 60% of women working in minimum wage that had wages above $8 an hour (There was Nebraska and Colorado). But the higher the wages, the higher percentage of men in the field, and with lower wages, the more likely minimum wage work was relegated to women.

Raising the federal minimum wage—and ensuring that tipped workers are entitled to this wage before tips—is essential to help millions of working women across the country support themselves and their families. And because women are the majority of workers who would get a raise, increasing the minimum wage would also help close the gender wage gap.

It’s the bogus statistic that won’t die—and president deployed it during the State of the Union—but women do not make 77 cents to every dollar a man earns.
