This one was a challenge, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. :D It's Wafflepelt's adult ref sheet!
Wafflepelt has no physical description given, so I based his build off of photos of the real-life Waffles that the character is named after. I know Wafflepelt has been designed as a longhair before, but the real Waffles is a shorthair looking at the photos, so that's what I went with.
For his pattern, Wafflepelt is described as a marbled gray-and-brown tabby tom with green eyes. I again based his colors and designs off of photos of the real cat, getting it as close as I possibly could.
Overall, I'm really happy with how he turned out :D
As I'm finishing up Star, I've got a few things to say about the arc as a whole. I still think I preferred The Broken Code to it in terms of story, but this arc did give me some things I really liked. It gave us more female villains which warriors DESPERATELY needed, even though 3/4 fully evil she-cats are given motherhood as an important part of their characters. I always love evil women.
Secondly this arc was FUNNY. I don't care how much of an asshole Nightheart was in the first half, it was entertaining to watch. Podlight was a hoot and a half, and Tigerstar continues to be a really funny cat. If he weren't a warrior cat he'd be a standup comedian. Not a good one, but one nonetheless.
And for the individual opinions:
Squirrelstar was long overdue, and I really like her. She still feels like the apprentice from TNP, although far more matured. She's been through so goddamn much.
Brambleclaw is becoming a more liked character of mine post retirement. I like seeing the series acknowledge and let him retire because he couldn't do it after everything and I think that only made him stronger, in a way.
Owlnose is FUNNY. he SUCKS and hes WIMPY and i think he sounds like jerma. i want to throw him against a wall hes funny.
Icestar is... fine. I think she was the right choice, but she really needed more screentime this arc. I understand wanting to keep who becomes the real leader as a mystery, but it did feel a little underwhelming.
Duskfur is a cat I enjoy. She's definitely one of the cats who's alignment I was unsure about, and I think they wrote her well. I'd be in support of Duskstar, but I don't think she really wanted that in the end.
Wafflepaw is funny. I love cats with weird warrior names. He's so optimistic and I know he's a grey tabby but shhhhhh. He's waffle colored.
Bee and Wasp are kind of the same in my mind. They're park cats, and I liked their presence. I do like Wasp being tentative about clan life, I think it's interesting to see cats that don't think that the clans are the perfect ideal.
Riverstar is a classic wise StarClan cat. It definitely gave me a jump on designing the clan leaders. I like that he's known by the park cats, I mean it makes sense.
Curlfeather still RULES. She's evil and not redeemed and I like it that way. Shoutout to women for TORMENTING their murderers. When I read that part I was like "Oh! I had an OC just like this! this rules!". I also like that it canonized dark forest cats as having the same injuries that they died from.
Frostdawn was absolutely CRAZED during the latter half of the series and it fucking ruled. Girl really got abducted by aliens, looking like a homeless woman, and killed Splashtail after an all nighter. I really like when medicine cats go off the rails I think they should do it more often.
I like Splashtail as a villain. He's what Hawkfrost wished he could be. I do think they were kind of all over the place, but I really do love his paranoid descent into madness. I think we need more cats tormented by scary ghosts.
Finchlight felt pretty realistic to me. I liked her in comparison to Flamepaw early on. I just really enjoyed when she was on screen. Not much else to say. I like to imagine she takes after Squirrelstar.
Podlight is FUNNY i dont care what other people say. im glad he's in riverclan and i know hes going to fade into the background but i hope he's still a weird freak. why did that guy attack hawkwing. what is his problem.
