Anyways here I am with a Leafwing variant/subspecies!! I really like these guys because they’ve got like a bunch of cool abilities..

Canopy Leafwings are WAY better adapted to the trees than their relatives, as they’ve gained shortened sails that don’t catch on branches, smaller wings, and dappled scales!! I like to think the dappled scales help them blend in particularly well with the light shining through the leaves of the canopies. Unfortunately they all look very similar though, so Canopy Leafwings have several uniquely colored scales on their neck and face that allow others to identify them!! Of course scale colorations can vary, but I find it cute that a Canopy Leafwing is often associated with a specific color due to their “identity scales” !

( EDIT!! ) Also omg they have scent glands..Since there tends to be quite a lot of noise in the rainforest where they live, these guys have adapted to communicate through smells produced via gland!! Right now the only scent I have nailed is a strong citrus smell being used when they’re upset/territorial… so whenever Canopy Leafwings smell citruses being cut/peeled they can get confused or anxious.
