Waffle Day
Waffle Day, a Christian holiday, is celebrated on March 25 worldwide. Originating in Europe, waffles are dough or batter cooked between two hot plates, usually made of iron. In the United States, Waffle Day is celebrated on August 24, commemorating the day in 1869 when the first waffle iron was patented. Oatmeal Nut Waffle Day is celebrated on March 11. To celebrate, make waffles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, experiment with toppings, try the American soul food version of fried chicken and waffles, or host a waffle party. Belgian waffles were introduced to the world for the first time in the United States by Maurice Vermersch at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
Celebrate everyone’s favorite breakfast dish – the delicious waffle.
