Monday - Friday 10:00am - 2:00pm - 20 hours

BARC is currently seeking professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) assisting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our Greenhouse. If you love plants, gardening and a desire to make an impactful and meaningful difference in someone else's life this is the position for you. Applicants with no experience or a career change are encouraged to apply – we will train the right candidates.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least age 18.

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record back 3 years, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

Provide daily care to greenhouse plants including, planting, transplanting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, controlling insects and disease, ventilating, and controlling weeds; manage plant nutrient levels.

Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Provide customer support for our greenhouse patrons.

Assist management team in identifying and providing opportunities for learning new skills and independence working with each individuals’ goals and plans.

Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.

Provide safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity, respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.

Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).

Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Efforts:

May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.

Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds.
