Some Yasammy Mama Headcanons because I CAN
(+a lil crumb of Yasamlynn)
They conceived naturally (Trans Sammy canon to ME) but it did take a lil extra work simply because of the effects of estrogen and allat.
They found out together because Yaz refused to take any tests without Sammy there, it needed to be a together thing not a "surprise I'm pregnant!" Thing.
They fully sobbed for like an hour after they found out, they had worked so hard for this and had been wanting this for years, they're just.. so happy they're finally gonna be mamas...
They waited a lil to tell anyone, they weren't afraid of anyone seeing Yaz showing because like,,, they all live long distance so it'd be kinda hard to tell, they just want to make sure there's no early on complications before they get anyone too excited.
They decide that instead of saying anything over call they wanna do it in person (w the rest of the campfam at least). Sammy's real good at makin a fuss about how everyone needs to come over ASAP so no one was too sus when they fully offered to pay for everyones flights to come down.
When they did come down, Sammy had care packages made for all of them, once again, unsurprising, but in those care packages were shirts with things like "#1 Uncle" for Darius and Kenji, "#1 Godfather" for Ben, and "#1 Stepmom" (Yasamlynn real but Brooklynn has a v diff relationship w the kids/pregancy than Yasammy, Sammy's like "Well I didn't want one that said aunt cause that'd be... weird... it was the best I could think of." And from that point on Brooklynn is locked in on being the mom that steps UP.)
Kenji cries he's def a crybaby but he's staying strong, meanwhile Ben is fully SOBBING, like, snotty, sniffling mess, hugging the girls so tight like he's gonna be a GODFATHER???? omg. (Leave it to the italian man to be the godfather)
When he stops crying (kinda) Yaz is like "So I'll take that as a yes to being the Godfather?" And the look he gives her is so flabbergasted cause what makes u think no was an option Yasmina????
They're all doting on the girls afterwards, Brooklynn asks if thats why Yaz is wearing a sweater instead of one of her hundreds of crop tops and she's like "....No............" (Yes.)
The girls do make use of the time Brooklynn is down to all go maternity clothing shopping, which Brooklynn is stoked for (though she does make a few comments here n there about how "why do they act like pregnant women aren't allowed to be fashionable??? I wanna see maternity daisy dukes.")
Benji are there when the girls tell Bumpy and Smoothie, obv they don't really know because of. English. But they can def smell a diff in how Yaz typically smells. Benji cry again I'm ngl, they're emo.
Brooklynn stays with the girls for a while to help take care of Yaz, esp cause Sammy still has to take care of the farm n everything so it's just nice to have a helping hand.
They all get back together for the baby shower, Darius doesn't realize just how many dinosaur themed gifts he got until they're opening the presents and hes just like "haha wow they must just make a lot of dinosaur baby stuff nowadays !!!! Haha so funny right !?!!??" (They do not, he just managed to lock the fuck in and get practically everything dino based, but that's okay because they prefer that over super gendered stuff.)
Speaking of gender, they reveal it at the baby shower because they+the campfam knkw that no matter what gender the baby is they plan on raising it the same, so gender won't effect gifts and stuff.
What DOES shock the campfam is when they just casually reveal "We're having twins !!!" And they're like "WE DID NOT GET TWIN BASED PRESENTS" but it doesn't matter too much because they don't want to raise them with the same things they'd rather the twins share like standard siblings and grow up as their own people.
Brooklynn and Ben come down for the birth, Yaz's mom is there too ofc. Brooklynn and Ben are both in the room but Ben gets kicked out temporarily at some point because he keeps pointing out when the doctor does anything wrong (lowkey Yasammy are a lil peeved that he got kicked out because he's right), he makes it back in for the actual birth tho cause he promises to stfu.
Its all tears when the baby girls are out, honestly Yaz is crying the least and she finds it very funny in her tired state.
They are ALL doting on her hard for the next lil bit, she just delivered twins, her mother keeps going "How did your tiny body create those?" But also tells her every time how proud she is of her.
(A lil Mrs.Pincdoula isms) Ben's mom does come down after the birth to offer her congratulations, as well as to help Yaz get a lil bit of a break from her mother (she loves her dearly but sometimes she can be a lil but overbearing, she's worried about her lil girl,,,)
Brooklynn continues to stay for the first few months to help before she's back to her usual travels, the rest of the camp fam do make sure to visit as much as possible (within the girls' comfort) to help out as well as to bond with the babies.
They wait a while to introduce the girls to Bumpy, Smoothie and Bessie simply because babies are fragile,,,
Sammy makes sure to be the one to wake up throughout the night to check on the girls even when she has farm work to do the next day because "You just spent 9 months growing two of our baby girls then did all that work poppin' em out! You're not wasting aaaaany sleep under my watch." And Yaz is very grateful,,,
Those babygirls have the most loving mothers ever AND have the most loving/doting extended family on top pf that, they are blessed with all the love in the world.
The girls have like the perfect mix of Yasammy's features, they have Yaz's full head of dark/thick hair immediately upon birth, Sammy's big ol eyes, Yaz's nose, as well as features from their parents.
Whenever they reach their first milestones Sammy is IMMEDIATELY like "EVERYONE GET ON CALL NOW MAMAS GOTTA SCREAM" and they all scream with her.
Darius,,, continues to get them dinosaur gifts I fear, that's their dino uncle, they have SO many dino plushes. He reads them books about dinos when he visits, infodumps to them, etc. These kids WILL know about dinos.
Darius is also the one that sneaks them treats when theyre old enough, like, Yasammy are absolutely not almond moms by any means, but they are parents and therefor give somewhat of a limit to the treats they get, Darius,,, does not listen, even after he gets caught.
Kenji offers free rock climbing classes once they're old enough, he also takes them on a lot of walks/hikes with Yaz once they're walking.
Ben is not allowed to teach the children conspiracy theories. Yes including the big shaving cream theories.
Ben does take them out to play with Bumpy and Smoothie a lot once they're old enough, the older girl is def a liiiiittle bit more nervous, which Ben understands (#beentheredonethat) but he helps her get used to the big dinos by telling her stories about all the times Bumpy saved his life. The younger of the two however is using Smoothie as a horse before Ben even introduces the idea (and Smoothie loves it).
Ms.Fadoula does SO much cooking for them when she's around, like, SO much, her granddaughters will not be raised without the foods of her culture (not that Yaz doesn't know how to make it, but theres somethin special about her mamas cookin that she will never ever turn down)
The girls speak three languages, english, spanish, and arabic
They def get a fair amount of the southern accent from Sammy
The older of the two is a huge plushie collector while the younger of the two prefers figure type toys
Overall these girls are so loved all around,,, like,,, soso loved soso dearly
