@princeandrci, continued from â : because I CONTINUE TO BE WEAK
that it had only been a year seemed difficult to comprehend â- walking to this place that had once been familiar gave andrei the sense that it had been instead an eternity. it looked much the same, of course, little hadphysically changed, yet the air of it, the sense it gave him, was foreign and unnatural, and it slowed already hesitant steps. a whole year of captivity, of wasting away in a french prison for the mere crime of defending his country, of knowing nothing of what was happening at home, other than that there would no report that he was alive â- and when a soldier disappeared in battle, the declaration of their death was never withheld for very long.
and it should have been true, andrei reckoned. wounded as heâd been (again, no less ) and captured by the enemy, interrogated and brought farther still from home to paris, his breath should have fled him, his heart shouldhave stopped. and yet still, still, with every passing day it had not. the wound had healed, leaving in its place ugly scars, and had made room for new blemishes. and though they had largely healed, their effect, his gaunt figureand the deadened hollowness of his eyes, the weariness that settled on his soul like a thick layer of dust, were still visible. still haunting his appearance â- still reminding him terrible year of endless and indistinguishable days and nights, cramped in his cell, believing every hour might be his last.
andrei had left as a man who had began to learn tenderness, and who hadpromised his quick return â- promised that he would not change. that this post was a temporary one, necessary to pushing the tyrant back to his own country. and now he was back, come to see her for the first time in that whole year. and he knew, terribly and too well, that those promises had not been kept. and because of it, because of this fate over which heâd had minimal control, he could not help but think that she would hate him â- if she recognized him at all, that was. she would smile falsely, perhaps, and request that he leave. that was how it played in mind. and those memories heâd held of her in his agonized delirium, of he voice and her touch, would truly be all there was left of them.
he did not only fear it ; he expected it, and prepared himself for it. there was nothing andrei feared as he feared loss. and this loss â- this seemedinevitable.
at the door, a servant greeted him, and without more than the most functionalwords, he was brought to the quaint ante-room. perhaps a warning should have been sent, he thought â- a letter to soften their reunion, to preparethem both for ⌠for whatever could happen in this. yet in his frightened eagerness, he had not through to do it, and so with his hands pressed together nervously, he sat and waited. and waited. and waited. and then there were footsteps, coming toward the room, and he rose. when she came in â- when he saw that half-remembered face with which he had once been so familiar, all that he might have said fled him.
â iâm sorry â- â was all he could manage, as the sudden desire to flee overcame him and as his emotions tore rabidly at his heart. what was he doing here? what was he doing here? he should have taken his failure to his grave. he should not have come back.
She had had waited. Anxious, but willing, if only because she had no other choice. Izolda spent the first portion of it as best she could, writing letters, going about town, reading. She even tried to take up a new language, but the weeks turned into months, and, all too soon, he was back in her life. Without so much as a pretense of concern for her, he was there every single day, eating the food in her kitchens, drowning her favorite rooms in his own cologne, forcing himself into her every waking and sleeping moment to remind her who owned her.
Sheâd been shattered, given a new scar across her throat where heâd tried to strangle her with a piano cord, and a hunch from the countless whippings and beatings. It was a miracle she had all her teeth still. It was a miracle she was alive. But she had forgotten, she had grown too happy in his absence, and he had to remind her who was in charge. forced himself onto her in the very bed sheâd slept in. The library wasnât even safe for her any more, reeking of the man who would kill her if he didnât want to use her again.
Sheâd grown pregnant and lost the child again, just three weeks ago. Eating became a chore. Her hair was thin and unkempt. And her eyes, which had glittered with joy, were sunken, dull, with heavy dark circles underneath to match the bruises coloring her scarred cheek. The months turned into a year, and Izolda â and Ruby remembered the world never let you keep such happiness for long.
She was in the servantâs quarters, when the news reached her. Ruby didnât know how to react. She hated him, for a moment, for leaving her alone long enough for this to happen, but it dulled soon enough. It hadnât been his choice to leave in the first place, and he wasnât one to make a promise he didnât intend to keep. It wasnât his fault, and she was too tired to blame him.
She wanted him to hold her. She wanted him to take her somewhere far away. She wanted to see Jane one last time before throwing herself into the sea.
Somewhere, far beneath the emptiness, emotions welled up once more â a flickering candle barely holding on to its light. She could see it, know it was there, but it was too far for her to reach. Ruby walked to the antechamber, but couldnât make it past the door. She kept a thin hand on the frame, the only thing holding her up. âYou were dead.â It was the first words she could find, quiet, stated almost like a fact. His eyes were hollow, and she knew, if this were months earlier, if sheâd been left to sit and suffer alone instead of the torture sheâd undergone, sheâd have run to him in an instant. Ruby would have caressed his face, thanked God he was still alive, wept openly for the joy he deserved to be greeted with. âI was at your memorial. They let me speak.â She didnât want to reach out again. She was too fragile to hope.

Do you have any tips on rewriting Kira's capture? Just to make sure it's not too simple or anything :)
hm, the best i could offer is to make sure you write it in detail but not too much detail that will just make the readers skim through it. iâd also try not to copy the scene from the anime/manga word from word. thatâs also something that can make the reader lose interest.
make sure to make it dramatic and suspenseful as well. the outcome may already be known, but the steps to get there can still be nerve-wracking as they capture the readerâs full attention.

So I'm writing a headcanon story. How should I go about introducing the characters and plot? also can someone be a regular human but later on in the story be given the power to shift and become a shifter? (Kinda like how Eren was a human but later on was given the ability to shift by his dad.)
Thatâs not really something I can answer for you, as I donât really know much about what you have planned, who your characters are, or what your plot is. Your writing style also takes part in how you do certain things, so I think this is something you should figure out on your own.
And yes, it is possible (Eren being our prime example), but not recommended due to Eren. Reusing already canon ideas and plot points for your characters is pretty Sueish and unoriginal. Not to mention gaining the ability to become a shifter isnât as easy as you probably think.
Eren became a shifter, because Grisha injected him with a serum that would turn him into a titan. You become a shifter by consuming another shifter. In this case, that was Grisha, as Eren ate him right after gaining his titan form.
Ymir stole the serum along time ago, and injected it within herself. Though she didnât have a shifter right in front of her to eat, and so she was stuck wandering outside the walls for years, until she coincidentally ate a shifter one day and regained her human form.    ĂROWAN
So I been wanting to make a oc x oc pairing fanfic. I also kinda want it to follow the manga and stuff but it still be original. Any advice?
I donât really have any advice, other than just go for it. Uh, but I would say, that if you want it to be more original than anything, then donât focus too much on retelling the canon events word-from-word. Thatâd be boring to the readers.
Iâd recommend keeping it centered around your OC(s), and always remember that this story is about them. You donât have to go and retell us the background of all the canon characters, because again, that would be pointless and boring.
To add on to the original aspect, it would be a good idea to come up with some new events that hadnât happened in the manga/anime. It doesnât have to be anything  big, but it would be nice to have a separate story line to follow instead of the canon one (especially if youâre going for something original).
I hope this helped!     ĂROWAN
