Grandfather -- @vxderlordofthesith
For his entire life, all he had known was the Empire and that he was a very special imperial citizen. the Emperor’s grandson. It hadn’t been a choice of his to even be in the Empire, but he had been there for as long as he could remember. He knew if his parents had it their way, there wouldn’t even be an Empire, much less would he be living with his grandfather and so far away from them.
After Emperor Palpatine had died, it would seem the Empire strengthened under his grandfather. But the battle for the Republic and democracy had not stopped, despite the Rebellion’s key wins on the Forest Moon of Endor and the destruction of the second Death Star. Ben knew well enough of the Rebellion beyond the protective walls of where he lived and learned,. The Rebels were now supposedly lead by his parents and uncle, if rumors were true. Ben wasn’t sure how to fell about that. He just wanted his family to be together. Was that so wrong?
“Papa.” Ben addressed his grandfather looking up at the towering Sith Lord. When he had been very little, he had had trouble pronouncing Grandfather and Grandpa and had shortened it to Papa and the name stuck. However, the boy had also realized some time ago that he was one of the few people in the galaxy who wasn’t afraid of his grandfather, and no doubt the only child in the galaxy who felt comfortable enough to address his grandfather.
He kept his hand busy for a moment by petting a dark purple tooka-cat. The felines for reasons unknown to him enjoyed his company and it was not unusual for him to wake up and find a cat or two curled up and snoozing on his bed. He was grateful for their company because he didn’t really have many friends.
“Are you happy that I’m your grandson?” Ben asked finally.
