When I first saw clips from the Adventure Time episode "Simon And Marcy" two and half months ago, they touched me very deeply. I am looking forward to seeing the whole episode when eventually I get the season it's in (so far I only own season 1 of Adventure Time, but I'm hoping to get season 2 for Christmas and slowly collect them all). I loved how Simon - even though he was suffering from the effects of the crown - went out of his way to care for little Marcy in the most difficult of circumstances, keeping her safe from monsters and finding ways to make her laugh. It was one of the most pure-hearted things I have ever watched in my whole life, and I love the relationship between Simon and Marceline. Simon never planned to become a surrogate father, but when he found a small child in need, he did what he knew was right. Lately I've been watching Voltron: Legendary Defender on Netflix and have come across another similar relationship. Princess Allura and her assistant Coran were frozen in cryogenics for thousands of years before awaking to find that the villainous Zarkon's empire was more powerful than ever and also that Allura's father, the king, was dead. Coran was never expecting to become the princess' guardian as well as her advisor, but I think he fills the role pretty well, ensuring she's well cared for and always trying to protect her from danger. It warmed my heart when in one episode Allura told him that he was "like a second father to [her]". I hope this crossover picture has the same effect upon your heart! ❤
