Why does Voltron Force get the hate it gets? This show is awesome!
I'm barely 10 episodes in and so far, it's funny, witty, charming, fast paced, well written, great character dynamics, even better dialog, the action is spot on, there's consequences that carry from episode to episode (so actual plot), it's great. How did this not even do well enough to get a second season, let alone an active fandom?
Yeah, the animation and character design are VERY late 2000's/early 2010's Butch Hartman-esque, but so was everything else when it came out. The OG 80's show is very coded for its time but it doesn't get ignored or run down like VF does. Once you get used to it enough to look past it, it might start looking better than anticipated. The 2D and 3D animation blends pretty well, and the lions are cute af. The backgrounds are beautiful, and the "camera work" so to speak is really good. It's really just the people's designs that are kinda meh, and I've found those subject to the "it gets better looking the more I get to know it and like it" phenomenon.
The characters are actual characters with real personalities with more chances to shine and more character growth in 10 episodes than VLD gave some in 76, and there's like five new characters to focus on, to boot!
Also, VF Lance has earned his place next to VLD Lance in my Imaginary Harem and I will be hyperfocusing on him for the foreseeable future. Also also, Maahox is flipping hilarious and I want much more of him, too. Sadly, there are a mere 10 pages of complete fics for Voltron Force on AO3, so this may prove problematic.
I swear, I could just go on and on and on about this show, but it's a dead fandom so there's nobody to drool with. Pity me, for I am lost and alone in my new obsession that yes, I already know ends on a cliffhanger but I'm watching anyway because it's just that good!

Very happy with this one, it would take place in the early days of the rewrite cause Lance is still red and Keith has his mullet and I forgot to draw it but Keith would have his cheek scar at this point
