Friends: two post doctoral researchers of the English language and sociology wrote a paper about Volée and another fanfiction, got an EU grant (from a fund named for Marie freaking Curie!) to do so, and published it in Anglia — which is, as far as I know, as someone who is so far from this world — the oldest peer reviewed journal of the English language.
