Our production designer made me a dope seat cushion ✌🏽

This little #behindthescenes clip from the Clear Blue #videovillage is the first video ever saved on my camera roll... TEN YEARS AGO TODAY! I think I got my first iPhone the week of this shoot, so over the last decade, any time I’ve accidentally tapped the top of the screen in the Photos app, it has taken me to this video + a few topless photos of me getting prosthetic gills applied to my ribcage (and one pic of the brand name of waterproof nipple pasties I was wearing, for future reference). I’ve seen the film a dozen times, I’m sure, but I’ve watched this little #BTS clip WAY more. I’m still so impressed with everyone involved to have pulled this off — shooting underwater on FILM is no easy feat. The camera crew, us two actors, and our #divebuddies were under water for forty minutes at a time. (I think I remember our producer @brentmart bragging about that stat at our #sxsw screening, or maybe while accepting our “Emmy” from the @televisionacad ;)) This remains my most unique film/role/set to date. I’ll never forget my audition in an Echo Park pool: director @le_linds asked me to swim a couple of laps, so I showed off with a full-out I.M. (#swimteam baby). Then I had to show cinematographer @mattiastroelstrup how “natural” I could act underwater with my eyes open. Pretty sure he didn’t have a camera and was just judging me through his comfortable goggles hahaa. Quite embarrassing. But clearly I have no regrets. Only fond memories with such a lovely cast and crew. Thanks for being on the receiving end of so many wet and un-suctioned smooches @chris__sheffield Happy #tenyears !
