I’d like to say that I hope dearly that Vicky is able to recover quickly and painlessly, cancer is an awful thing for those enduring it and I’ve seen the effects first hand. I severely hope Vicky knows how dearly she is loved by this community, as we love all of the Erin Hunters. While our dear cat books aren’t perfect, they’ve brought together such a huge community of loving, caring individuals. I have made many lifelong friends because of our shared interest in Warrior Cats and for that, I cannot thank Vicky and the rest of the team enough.

Oh boy… I really don´t know how to start this, but lets go:

1. The whole age-gap between Spottedleaf and Thistleclaw didn’t really choked me. Why? That happens before in the series. The thing with Dustpelt and Fernclaw creeped me out when I first read the books; Spottedleaf herself has this strange obsession over FirePAW, yeah, he was just a apprentice at the time too. I thought it was just a thing by now. Well, that said…

2. They NEVER had a thing before; in any other book the Erins have ever hinted that Thistle and Spotted had a thing. I just think that if this was actually happening we would have heard of it at least in Bluestar’s Prophecy but NO! This plot is so forced that hurts.

3. THEY ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF CHARACTER!!!

Spottedleaf: If I remember, it was told that she always wanted to be a medicine cat! She was talented and ability to become one. But now, NO! She wanted to be a warrior but was forced (just like many other medicine cats) to become a mc because a stupid prophecy said so. COME ON, no one can just want to be a mc anymore?

Thistleclaw: This one I have a lot to say! True be told, at first I was one of those person who always thought that was unfair sending Thisthleclaw to the DF. And a part of me still thinks like this but NOW I actually like the idea of him being corrupted at his very core by the sadness and anger of losing his mate (WHO HE LOVED SO DEPPLY! He would never just forget her and go after another she-cat like it was written!) and being separated from his son. THAT was clever writing! What a GREAT but also TRAGIC way to become an antagonist! He was a GREAT villain! BUT NO! VICKY NEED TO MAKE HIM AN AWFUL/CREEPY/PEDO (if you think, as i said it didn’t really bother me that much…) FREAK! No depth at all, just pure stupid evil! GIVE ME A BREAK!

You guys know why she did this?! Because, they made a bad job making Thistleclaw evil in Bluestar´s Prophecy. He was kind of an anti-hero there. So much so that fans were always discussing if he should be in Starclan or in the DarkForest. And she didn’t wanted people to think he deserved better, so she just wrote a stupid book and made him as terrible as possible, so people stop thinking different from what she believes.

You know what, THAT’S OK! People think different about stuff all the time. We’re a creative fandom! We have all those amazing artist with their own designs for the characters, we have great animators, we accept different points of view about the series. You didn’t need to destroy two great characters to force a point of view down our throat!

Now we have TWO completely different Thistleclaw; A terribly put together Spottedleaf; An awfully written novella; and a completely shocked fandom that is not happy with the way warriors is being treated by its own writer. This novella looked more like a crackship fanfic than an actually cannon story.

One thing is for sure, Spottedleaf´s Heart made the fandom agreed in one point: THIS one is a piece of warriors that should have never been written.
