And I would walk 500 miles for @rapswagster
Soulmate Au! Where Taehyung Namjoon and Hoseok have Numbers on their wrists that count the steps until they’ll meet.
-
Taehyung grew up with numbers on his wrist growing and falling and growing again.
When he turned five another number suddenly started growing. It was around the same time that their neighbors moved out but Taehyung didn’t know anything about that. He was to engrossed in playing with his best friend Jimin to really notice anything at that time.
They were buddies since the start, Taehyung couldn’t even remember a time without Jimin.
But as he grew older he soon started experimenting with the numbers like everyone else did. He took long walks to see what they’d do to his numbers and would smile happily when they would fall. But sometimes the numbers would grow even if he would lie still and his eyes would grow large and watery when his number hit a million steps. The other number always seemed to stay low at something around a 1000 steps but Taehyung still never found his soulmate.
As he grew older he started working as a journalist because he wanted to be able to go places. He had seen many places, travelled through America and Europe to interview politicians and musicians but most times the numbers would only grow, especially if he would go anywhere with a plane.
But then one day he wanted to meet Jimin at their favourite toy store he was just on his way when he accidentally bumped into a stranger.
The force of the bump send him stumbling backwards and made him bump into another person. That was when he finally fell down. When he first lifted his eyes of the ground he was met with a tall guy mumbling out apologies. The guy stretched his hand out but took it back and decided to ruffle his hair a few times before stretching it out again.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled. “You don’t gotta take it. If you hate skin contact that’s fine, I-“ he broke off and took a step forward letting his hand fall to his side.
Taehyung looked at him in an unsure manner. He didn’t mind skin contact in any way. Jimin declared him to be an octopus a few times already but he couldn’t really take the guys hand now that he wasn’t offering it anymore.
“I didn’t really get the chance to decide wether I liked skin contact or not,” another voice interrupted. A voice from under Taehyung. His cheeks burned as he stood up and bowed to the other two people.
“I’m sorry, I should have watched my steps. I hope that you two are fine?”
Both of them smiled kindly and as Taehyung kept on comparing them he noticed similarities that weren’t only present in their behavior. They also shared having the cutest dimples while smiling and eyes that turned to slits throughout smiling.
They both looked older than him and they both wore suits.
“Don’t apologize, it’s really my fault,” the one with the blonde hair said before bowing. “I am really clumsy sometimes.”
The other guy laughed and shook his head before quickly bowing and apologizing himself. As awkward silence grew between them, they bowed one last time before going on with their day. Or at least it was what they wanted to do.
But then Taehyung noticed a sting in his wrist.
A look down gave him a weird view. He was shocked to see his number turning from a skin colored zero into black slowly growing numbers again. From zero to five and then to ten. Without further thinking he turned, and then (Taehyung wasn’t really proud of his actions but he didn’t regret them either) he screamed.
“Wait!” he shouted after them. His feet guiding them towards the guys in the suits without further thinking.
“Wait!”
And as he touched their shoulders they turned around and looked at him and he blushed, realizing what he was doing. But now that there was no turning back he pulled their wrists towards his own just to see a zero standing against their skin in their individual skin color.
“Oh my,” the tallest laughed. “I never thought that this would be the way that I meet my soulmates,” the other one laughed. Tae didn’t say anything, he just smiled brightly before pulling both of them into a group hug.
“I didn’t either,” he said. “But I don’t regret it.”
Jimin has to live with a rain check that day and the work of his soulmates were called to make sure that they got the day of.
Taehyung quickly learned their names, Namjoon and Hoseok. And he learned that Hoseok was the one who lived next door, who was the constantly growing number as he moved to Australia. Namjoons number stayed the same because Namjoon was a professor at a nearby college.
Taehyung didn’t push any further that day because they had enough time to find all the little details about each other. For that day he was content with spending time with his soulmates and getting to know them the first bit. He was fine with having them around.
