I survived 6 exams in 9 days and got a badge to prove it! It's all a bit surreal, but maybe that's because I'm delirious from a lack of sheep... I mean sleep. Off to go enjoy my one day of summer break before final year begins on Monday!

After a really interesting but challenging week on Diagnostic Imaging Rotation, I wanted to enter the weekend on a positive note: I enjoyed learning how to perform and interpret ultrasound examinations, specifically echocardiograms (heart ultrasounds) on feline patients! The most common cardiac disease in cats is Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy where the left ventricular walls thicken which in turn causes a variety of other anatomical and functional changes to occur. ECHO's allow veterinarians to diagnose HCM, to successfully monitor HCM progression, and to evaluate if treatment is adequate.
