She’d meant to go try and see him. Chessie and Bishop weren’t exactly friends, but she still tried calling -- She met his answering machine enough times to get her to stop, the courage to actually try and see him never finding her. The last thing Chessie expected was to see Bishop Kirbey in her living room, in attendance of her and O’s Holiday Party. Thanks to the line of coke she’d done earlier -- Before Wren had interrupted her -- Chessie found herself with enough nerve to approach him. After taking another generous sip of her champagne, she moved towards him, racking her brain for the best thing to say, only to have words push past her lips before she can stop them. Maybe coke wasn’t the best idea. “I’m surprised to see you here.” It was a weak greeting, but one nonetheless. “It’s -- good to see you.”

The amount of guilt that Ben felt towards a certain someone was a bit overwhelming. How do you apologize for screwing your best friend over? Quinn was probably the closest friend that he had. And he ruined it, all because of the fact that he was so desperate. His ex-best friend was the reason that he was back. Thankfully, he hadn’t run into him yet. As per usual, he spoke too soon. Fuck. He wasn’t ready to face Quinn. 

He wasn’t sure if Quinn noticed him yet, but Ben didn’t want to take any chances. He tried to find a hiding place but everything was too obvious. He didn’t want to seem like he was avoiding the other man, not when that was exactly what he was doing. Ben panicked and gave Quinn a slight smile.

“Hey,” He blurted out. He wasn’t quite sure how to act. Should he act like nothing happened? He wanted to apologize but he knew that was going to be a bit hard for him. “It almost feels like old times around here.” Ben was pretty sentimental and just downright stupid sometimes. Why would he start off by saying that out of everything?

Seb didn’t have the slightest patience to sit around the house, even with a bottle of wine between his thighs and the warmth of a chimney - fake or not, he hadn’t been able to tell from under the alcohol haze. Even without a jacket, he refused to give up on his every fifteen minutes cigarette breaks, going outside the house in a dark red sweater even he didn’t like. Dragging for his cigarette, he whistled as he heard somebody walk outside as well. He assumed that he knew whoever would leave the place for a refreshingly cold breath of air, but at a careful glance, he realized he was wrong, though the young man’s face didn’t seem unfamiliar either. 

‘‘Okay, quick question. What did you ask for from Santa this year?’‘ Childishly, Sebastian didn’t even fully realize that, even as a joke, the question must have sounded odd to hear from a stranger. Still, he kept his smile on, awaiting for something to start a conversation from. 

Both his lateness and the ugly sweater he was wearing were unfashionable to the core, but Sebastian insisted on making an entrance, knocking boldly on a door half hostile to him after changing his mind forty times about attending. Angel and demon on his shoulder, both Francesca and Ophelia weighed in for his decision, but he figured that the first cancelled the second’s presence no matter what. He knocked and even his fist reeked of Jagermeister. Still, he managed to arrive, late into the evening, but early enough for his standards. 

‘‘I just wanted to say that all I want for Christmas is you,’‘ he raised a finger to add as soon as the front door opened, proud of himself for the purposefully cheesy introduction, before he could even see who he was talking to. That was half of the fun in his mind, actually. ‘‘I also am freezing outside. I thought I wouldn’t need a coat, but the warmth of the Uber car lied to me.’‘ His explanation was what he thought was coherent, though words flew out of his mouth one at a time, disconnected.

Upon their arrival, Tate made a beeline to the kitchen to prepare their self a double vodka soda, skipping the wine this evening and shooting straight for the hard stuff.  They were unsure of what events would unravel this evening, but Tate honestly couldn’t care less since there was free alcohol and many places for them to hide.

Instead of seeking an immediate place of refuge, Tate hoisted their self onto the counter of the island in the centre of the kitchen in attempt to remain close to the free booze.  As Tate sipped on their vodka soda, the sound of approaching footsteps went unnoticed until they heard a voice beside them.  “Oh,” Tate exclaimed.  “Didn’t think I’d see you here.”
