When we close our eyes, where do we all go?
Actually, before I forget, since I haven't posted them in a while:
Celeste/Betty new info
Celeste Verdugo
Pronouns: He/they(Genderqueer, transgender)
Age: 31 (born September 5th, 1970)
Height: 5'9
Ethnicity: Puerto Rican American
Race: Mixed
Celeste is the youngest sibling of two.
Brother: Nathaniel "Nathan" Verdugo.
Father: Martin Verdugo
Mother: Casey Smith
Celeste's story revolves around the Colton family, Hameln, and Marcus Moutman in Amanda the Adventurer. Story takes place in Kensdale, Ohio, in 2002-2003. Hameln is truly interested in Celeste due to their obvious unique abilities.
Astral projection: the ability to see ghosts, to talk to people in the past present and future when he's in a dream-like state. An ability unique to them, caused by the intense trauma of their mother's death. They are the first in their family to have this ability.
This ability unfortunately causes an intense amount of stress on their body, inducing intense weakness and vertigo.
Speech: Celeste can be smooth, direct, and vulgar when speaking.
Traits: Intelligent, charming, caring, introverted, anxious, easily irritable, confrontational at worst
Celeste grew up with both their parents, after the death of his mom it triggered their ability, and originally they were unaware that they were doing this.
Their father thought that they were getting sick too like their mother, but finding that nothing was wrong (bear in mind his father was grieving, yet he was taking it out on his children) he began to treat them differently, he was afraid of their ability and what that would mean, and in order to deal with this he projected more of his anger towards them and forced them to mask this ability. As they reach early 20s they begin to have a bad relationship with his older brother because he begins to exhibit his father's bad traits.
Celeste meets Marcus as a teenager, in high school. Celeste is a dejected, anxious, angry child, constantly stressed, having trouble putting on weight due to stress related to their ability, and underlying conditions. They didn't have the greatest father or brother figure, them projecting their anger and grief of their mother's passing onto them. They prefer to keep to themself, finding social interaction too overstimulating as a child. Not only that, but were bullied for being so out of it in school.
Cel meets Marcus, a very lonely kid, sort of a pushover, never defended himself whether he was being verbally or physically bullied. They become close very fast. He's very easy to talk to, despite his nervousness, and they have similar interests.
These two stay friends until their early 30s. Marcus is 30, Cel's 31, these two are roommates, sharing a home in their 20s. Celeste, with their college experience, landed them a job in Kensdale's public library, as a library archivist (after going through hell in fast food.) Marcus on the other hand (with his engineering experience) lands him a job at Hameln.
Relations:
• Marcus Moutman, best friend. They are very affectionate and protective towards him, and he reciprocates this. Celeste and Marcus have very clear underlying feelings for the other that are very clear to everyone but the two of them. So, they stay friends.
• Sam Colton: Mr. Colton, as Celeste calls him, just as much as a "father figure" as he is to his adopted daughter, Rebecca, since theirs is a piece of shit. Very close friend of theirs.
• Rebecca Colton: Sam's kid. They babysit her sometimes. Rebecca thinks of her as a guardian figure.
• Kate Park: If Sam likes her, then Cel likes her. Not much of a close relationship there though, just coworkers.
• Joanne Cook: I want them to have some sort of relationship but I am unsure of her age
Betty the Bat is a character made, similar to Wooly, to calm Rebecca down as Amanda
Betty has really bad amnesia and can barely remember how they ended up there, but when they're around familiar characters like Rebecca or Marcus they have these feelings of familiarity
Betty is the Town's librarian like they were in life
They do have these moments where they do remember who they were but it mostly comes to them in dreams and nightmares, and instead of taking them as who they were, they just take at face value
When they attempt to talk about it, Wooly deflects
He's one of main factors of them being trapped there and if they knew they would retaliate
You'll change your name, or change your mind
And leave this fucked up place behind
But I'll know, I'll know
