Hello again 👀 I am just right in the middle of drawing your request, aaand now I don't exactly want to spoil it just incase you wanted to have it be a surprise, but I have become... Very fascinated with the concept of Opossum Marcus. Keeping him an antagonistic character... With no harmful stereotypes on neurodivergent people?? As one myself, I APPRECIATE THAT 🥹
Sooo.. You don't have to, but I would love to hear anything you have to say about him, I want to hear you talk about him because I neeeeed to know more about this guy. He is so perfectly creepy cute and that is my shit!!!!! Never thought I'd imagine anyone making Ordinary White Man Marcus genuinely interesting to learn about aside from being a cranky insufferable manchild with "problems" I couldn't care less about (Okay that might be a little insensitive haha, but you get it)
(Changing a few details to fit the story better-
Well, as mentioned previously, he was the son of Hamlen's CEO and became obsessed with Sam. To the point where, and I changed a few details here, when made aware about Sam being kidnapped and separated from Rebecca he took advantage of the situation on both sides. First, he was the only acting "nice" towards Rebecca, in a non artificial way as the other employees. Then, when the time was right, he tracked down Sam and tried to make it seem like he attempted to save Rebecca from being experimented on but couldn't so he ran to get help. And he just so happened to have "accidentally" bumped into Sam.
So, when the two break into the facility, Sam encounters the Colton Anomaly (which ends a lot differently than the tape of his death, i.e. the Anomaly is injured badly by a fire extinguisher) and learns it IS Rebecca (he doesn't kill her here, just knocks her out and shows . This causes him to freak out and try to get her somewhere safe. And just when he thinks they'll be cornered, Marcus conveniently swoops in and gets them to hide in the same room Rebecca was bed bound in.
Given a moment to breathe, Sam relays everything he's seen while Rebecca is still knocked out next to him. All the while, Marcus has a calm but...oddly neutral expression on his face. Like he's not super shocked or surprised. Sam's too exhausted to even notice this though, and thanks him for at least "trying" to help her.
And just when his guard is down, before he's able to process it, a sharp pain reaches his neck and his body falls limp. The last thing he saw while paralyzed was Marcus holding up a syringe with a crazed expression on his face.
Honesty, I imagine pre-game Marcus to be similar to Pawbert from Zootopia 2. Post game, he pretty much plays the role of the "bad influence" you'd see in those very special episodes teaching kids about stranger danger or drugs or something- A LOT more obviously evil and no chance of redemption.
This comes into play in the 3rd game. After Chickenscratch is thrown in the trash by the end of 2, we see his body twitch unnaturally before it cuts away from him.)
