I have some questions for your āif Marcus Meets Samā AU/scenario!
1. How long did Marcus and Sam have contact for before the events of the animatic?
2. Did Sam reach out to get closure and answers from Marcus?
3. Does Marcus usually..act that way? And if so, how does Sam usually respond to it?
4. How is Sam doing after the events of ATA 3? Like, Mentally?
5. How is Rebecca doing? Mentally and Physically?
6. Do Sam and Rebecca live with Riley until both recover?
Ooooh a nice wave of questions!! āØ
1. I wanna imagine Sam met Marcus in the Kensdale Public Library setting, when he was working as a puppeteer for the kiddos and Sam brought little Rebecca.
After that? History. (Iām not sure if thatās what you mean from the question but I brought it anyways aishsj). And after Rebecca told him everything, Sam knew Marcus wasnāt the same man he thought he was.
2. Yes. Mainly permission. If Sam gets warned about Marcusās bad behavior, then heās gonna have to contact Riley for what they know in the meantime.
3. Marcusās mind did a pause ever since they got him out of the pod, absolutely lost. And he started acting mentally horrible when Sam happened to be around, because heās aware thatās the father of his dear best friend.
As for how Sam responds to it? Heās had enough, but forces himself to take it easy.
4. Sam has been through the most depressing stage of his life. He wants to lash out, probably cry, and most importantly, reach for his daughter. He blames himself for not doing enough, for not thinking about the consequences. But Rebecca by his side gives him enough strength to be okay, for her and his sake.
5. Rebecca needs a lot of time and patience to figure things out. She sticks to both Riley and Sam. She refuses to be left alone. She gets panic attacks if not treated well. In other words⦠she is going through a hard time too. Mentally? Sheās trying. Physically? Sheās tired. Very tired.
6. Yes. Riley takes care of Rebecca, but also watches constantly for Sam.

Part 3 and final question!
Wooly: He's nice. He's also gross.
CS: FLUFFY!!
Sam: They aren't the closest yet. I have been teaching Chicken about boundaries since he tends to be very touchy. Amanda and I are fine with it but Wooly really doesn't care for all of that. Wooly will hug and hold hands but Chicken is very in tune with his animal nature. He wants to rub and lick and just make you smell like him, it makes him feel more comfortable and it shows that he loves you. Wooly doesn't like his wool to be messed with and he's not a fan of Chicken's smell.
Kate: I'm teaching Wooly to be more patient with Chicken Scratch, he's still very young and has a lot to learn. They just need time.
Ok that's the questions! I'm writing this at 1:30 in the morning. I'm tired. I'm so sorry it took this long @sillydreamerwow
I hope you come back soon so you can see these! Goodnight everyone!

Alright it's finally done! @sillydreamerwow asked a lot of questions on twitter and I have them all here in this post! Let's get started!
Amanda: I really like making friends at school. I share my adventures with them and draw the places I've been. I wanna make a map for the whole forest one day! So drawing is my favorite subject.
Sam: I'll answer these for him.
Yes Chicken can in fact do a cart wheel
CS: Ta-da!
Sam: Yes you did that very nicely Squirm.
Sam: At first the chickens were afraid of Scratch. Chicken Scratch loves eggs and has tried stealing them in the past. But somewhere from then and now they've been really close. I'll catch him napping in the chicken coop. They'll even roost on him like he's their baby.
Which makes it difficult when he decides to hide from his bath time. That boy will hide anywhere to get away from a bath, but he tends to hide specifically with the chickens.
And finding him isn't the end, his favorite activity is tag! So run like the wind! I have to keep him close to me at all times when I go out cause he'll run off just so I can chase him. It sounds funny and I will get a laugh from his little 'adventures', but it's exhausting.
He also likes to eat, a lot. Sweets specifically, so I try not to give him too much. Which doesn't work when your mother's are bakers. Kate and I have to make sure the little ones don't just keep going over to my mother's house just to get a bunch of treats.
Wooly: OH OH OH! YES! I really love fairytales, princess stories are my favorites. Rapunzel is so good! (He's talking about the Disney version. I still called it Rapunzel though lol) I also really like the romance between Rapunzel and Eugene, sigh I love romance. Mother Gothel is so mean though!
Amanda: You know that in the original story the guy has his eyes gouged out and he walks around blind.
Wooly: You stop that right now!
Amanda: š It's true though.
Wooly: Stoooooop!
Part 1 done
Sam Colton + Marcus Moutman parallels because Iām evil:
The lyrics of āPure Imaginationā fit both characters perfectly, but in VERY different ways. Sam is a deeply imaginative person who wants to nourish childrenās inner worlds, while Marcus needs childrenās imaginations (specifically Rebecca and the Missing Kids) in order to sustain his everlasting paracosm.
Keeping to my point, this version feels like a heartfelt invitation into a shared imaginative adventure, like the kinds Sam and Rebecca would go on together. The kinds where Sam would let Rebecca lead HIM to their next discovery. Melissa LaMartina even mentioned this on the dev teamās most recent stream! Sam shares his imagination with others via his stories, but he empowers THEM to come up with their own adventures.
This version, meanwhile, is EERIE AS FUCK AND FOR GOOD REASON!!! In the movie itself, Wonka is the one leading the kids, literally threatening to whack them if they step out of line on their way into the Chocolate Room. Itās clear that he holds all the cards here, in a corporate fortress whose manufactured whimsy is sustained solely by exploited human labor. Likewise, the realization of Marcusās āimaginationā only comes at the expense of others.
Seeing some headcanons for Sam snapping at Hameln and their cohorts and figured Iād throw my hat into the ring. In WRINKLE Sam doesnāt get too many chances to lash out at his captors on account of the dangers of doing so. He regards them with a subdued contempt not unlike that of Number Six from The Prisoner. He constantly has his guard up and canāt afford to drop it, and whenever given the chance, will mess with the people assigned to look over him.
Thereās a short story I wrote set before his and Rebeccaās kidnapping that explores this concept a little, with Sam confronting the Director on the set of the Hameln-funded season 2 of the live-action Amanda the Adventurer show (which, notably, never aired).
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
In FOLD, Samās at his breaking point. He storms into Mayor Davidās office and tries to explain the cosmic mechanics of the Valley, and what will happen if the citizens of Reborn Kensdale refuse to act in the next four days. He tries to break through to them all, but only one comes to his aidāa mysterious shepherdess, who tells him of a sorcerer who can help them cross the FOLD.
The sorcerer in question is Mars, someone for whom Sam feels immediate vitriol, and the two are constantly at each otherās throats while confined to the ferry. Marsās lackadaisical demeanor does little to quell Samās anxieties regarding their fate should they fail their mission. Marsās incompetence leads Sam to lash out at him more than once⦠in the way he wished heād knocked some sense into another man when he was still alive.
When they reach the Lokatorās Isle, and realize the true nature of Marsās assistance, all these emotions come to a head. Sam draws the Quillāhis trusty bladeāand Mars wields the Static Scythe. And suddenly, decades of betrayals come rushing back. Sam exacts revenge upon the masked instrument of his daughterās suffering, and in doing so, shatters his own mask. The one that ensured his survival, at the cost of his sanity.
In the Valley, Sam has friends fighting at his side. In the Valley, he can attack his enemies and emerge victorious. In the Valley, his imaginationāhis greatest strengthācan be his shield. Just like it was in the real world. Because THATāS what Hameln truly wanted from him. And in all their failed efforts to extract it, Sam became more powerful than they could ever know.
