I did this run for Questing for Glory, an online RPG speedrunning marathon, back in November. For those of you who may have watched a VC2 speedrun before, this run shows off a completely new route that DoomyDoom worked on.
On commentary with me was Louffe, who is really knowledgeable about the series.
This was such a fun run to do and I couldn't ask for a better showcase of what speedrunning this game is like. Hope you enjoy!

I've been writing a Valkyria Chronicles 2 fanfic that is a reimagining of the entire story. What if Zeri and Juliana were the main characters? What if Juliana survived halfway through the story? What if they were allowed to develop their relationship? What if Aliasse was given more time and space to develop as a character as well?
These were the reasons I started something this large-scale for VC2. This fic is out of love for the original game and I want to see what I can do with my ideas.

That terrible sensation you get when the first thing you see on Tumblr is someone aggressively talking bad about a game you love and spent 220+ hours playing just so you could get as many everyday life scenes and character stories as possible.
People hate it just because it’s a school setting with teenage characters. As if Persona games weren’t incredibly successful being exactly like that. As if there was no canonical reason for the second game to be full of cadets (is there anyone else available to fight after the first game?).
Oh, I forgot, Sega RPGs made in Japan with an anime style are not allowed to feel like anime.
I totally understand people preferring VC1. It’s an AWESOME game. I am just... tired to see VC2 being called a bad game just because people are incredibly disgusted at anime cliches for some reason.
