For the @vsmp-bat-conservation-event ! When you sleep for 600 years, you might miss some interesting scientific discoveries about what your bat form can do.
Image: Drift, Scott and Shelby are flying as bats. Drift lets out a high-pitched pulsing sound indicated by exclamation points; more exclamation points outline the tops of nearby trees. Looking surprised, Scott asks her âWhat did you just do?!â

Just a pencil sketch for Day 4 âFangs/Feedingâ of the @vsmp-bat-conservation-event . Imagine how relieved and happy v!Apo would be if it turned out her bat form could digest fruit instead of blood or meat:
Wanted to draw Cherri feeding her cherries, but I couldnât get the hands to look right.

I havenât had time to do all the Bat Conservation Week prompts, but hereâs one for Day 3 âTransformationâ featuring postcanon Moonrot:

Transcript:
Panel 1: Pearl, in bat form, hangs upside down from a chandelier and narrates in imitation of David Attenborough: âHere we see a bat, in a vast castle that resembles its natural habitat of a cave. This creatureâs remarkable claws let it grip even the smallest of crevices, hanging upside down as long as it waâuh oh.â
Panel 2: Oscar the cat stares upward in confusion. From above comes Pearlâs voice: âAw, nuggets. Oscar? Can you go get Cleo?â
Panel 3: Pearl still hangs from the chandelier, but now sheâs human-shaped and tilting the chandelier to one side. Another bat (Cleo) approaches her. âYou know, usually itâs firefighters who come when cats are stuck somewhere high up, not the other way around.â
âAre you going to help me down, or just fly around laughing like a butt?â asks Pearl.

Drew this one around Thanksgiving, decided to share it here!
I just love that the Vapris universeâs version of Cherri sews (mentioned in one of Apoâs letters), because I sew and now I get to imagine what someone who sews like me might do if her beloved came home as a vampire. And since Iâve already been sewing tiny things related to VSMP (which I will post here when more of them are done), now I can draw Cherri doing the same! Maybe she caught one of the decoy bats that appear when a vampire turns into one and measured it so as not to spoil the surprise by measuring Apo. And since a vampireâs human-shaped clothes stay put when they become bats, why not apply the same logic to a little bat-size copy of Apoâs cape?
Transcript below:
Panel 1: Cherri sits in her chair, stitching something that fits entirely in one hand with black thread. Apo looks around from behind the chair and asks âWhat are you making thatâs so tiny?â
âA surprise. No peeking!â replies Cherri.
Panel 2 (Later): Both hands clasped together, Cherri tells Apo âAll right, turn into a bat and close your eyes.â Apo looks confused, but agrees.
Panel 3: No text. Apo, as a bat, holds still while Cherri carefully fastens something around their neck.
Panel 4: âTa da!â announces Cherri from out of frame. Opening her eyes, Apo finds that the surprise is a bat-size copy of her cape, complete with the little ruffle under the clasp in front.
One thing a lot of the VSMP members mentioned is how the YT format helped a lot of channels reach new audiences and vice versa. And I've seen plenty of fans talking about how they liked one or more creators that the series introduced them to, enough to watch more of their non-Vampires content going forward.
So I'm curious: who did Vapris bring across your radar?
I made the chart deliberately generic so people can use it for other SMPs besides Vampires if they wantâlike Bannerfall, perhaps. Here's mine!
The Life Series was what really got me back into MCYT as a whole, so I'm sure the top row isn't surprising. Sausage and Shelby I saw in stuff like Empires and AfterLife. Scott uploaded main-channel videos of Rats season 1, so that's where I first saw Owen and caught a few glimpses of Apo (although at the time I couldn't keep track of her among a bunch of other A names). I think Drift was in someone's Misadventures video that I saw; I've been told Avid's part of Misadventures as well but haven't seen him there myself.
Valentines Vapris Hellfire art suggested by a Reddit friend!
Colored with Prismacolor pencils.
I've been posting drawings to Reddit basically since the VSMP sub was created at the beginning of the series. This piece was a suggestion from a regular commenter on my work there...actually, the original suggestion was just "Apo cooks something special for Cherri despite not being able to taste it" but during our brainstorming session it turned into "Apo tries and fails to cook something special for Cherri because she can't taste it." Went for chocolate pudding because a) chocolate looks and smells just as good whether it's sweetened or not, and b) unlike cakes or other desserts, it might be possible to salvage bitter pudding by stirring in sugar afterwards, like Cherri's suggesting here.
My favorite part of the piece is either the pudding itself (I don't even like pudding or cherries but it still looks really tasty) or the ponytail in the first panel. I only tied back her hair (which they dyed in a previous piece, hence the color and white roots) so it wouldn't get into the food, but it ended up looking really cute that way.
Transcript below the cut:
Panel 1: A kitchen. A recipe book, a bar of baker's chocolate, an eggshell and a measuring cup are scattered across the counter as Apo stirs a saucepan of chocolate pudding on the stovetop. Cherri pokes her head in the doorway. "Mmm, that smells good! Need any help?"
"No," says Apo. "I'm making this for you."
Panel 2: A small table draped in a tablecloth and decorated with a candle, a rose, and a folded pink napkin. Apo presents a bowl of pudding garnished with cherries and a scoop of whipped cream and announces "Happy Valentine's Day!"
Panel 3: Cherri tastes a spoonful of pudding and looks surprised. "Oh! Uh...what did you put in this?"
Panel 4: With a nervous look at the bowl of pudding, Apo tries for a joke in hopes Cherri's just messing with her. "Well, I didn't add any blood if that's what you're worried about..."
Cherri lowers her spoon. "Did you add any sugar?"
Panel 5: Head in her hands, Apo has realized they did not, in fact, add any sugar. Cherri puts an arm around her shoulders. "It's okay..."
"I'm so sorry..."
"You couldn't taste it, could you?"
"No! And it smelled so good..."
"Heyâit's okay, really," Cherri insists. "Where's the sugar bowl? I can stir some in now..."
