Anyway. Now thinking about 2006 Drift (who has managed to move out and keep relative distance from Scott but who is still too afraid of him to try and cut him off entirely and is just trying to become so unimportant in his life that he forgets about her) psyching herself up for the annual Oakhurst trip because spending a week mentally preparing is the only way she can cope with being around him for a couple of days.

She doesn't know why. He's Literally Nice. He hasn't hurt anyone in a century. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine, she's supposed to be better now. Stupid. He'll notice--

I haven't had a lot of concrete thoughts about a hypothetical drift meetup for want to stay au but there is something in my idea that both drift and doc feel extremely guilty about wanting bad things to happen to scott (drift because she thinks it's awful to wish such a thing at all and doc because he thinks he doesn't deserve to feel that way) and I could maybe see the meetup happening between drift and doc-apo-cherri on a very tentative basis because doc-apo-cherri don't want scott knowing at all about the meeting and drift is a bad liar who's still under scott's thumb

I think post canon drift fantasizes about someone coming to kill scott and then guilt spirals about it
