🖋️ do you have any acotar ocs who interact with beron? what does their relationship with him look like? if not, what would it look like if they interacted with him?
🔥 where does his villain arc end? who puts a stop to it?
Hey you! :) Thanks for the ask, @olenvasynyt! This is gonna get LONG:
đź–‹For one, there are my vansiblings Galen, Damien, Bran, Caspien, and Atticus who all interact with him in some way or another -
Galen adored his daddy and vice versa - Beron openly mourned Galen's death and constantly compared Eris to his younger brother growing up
Damien took a similar spot of affection when Galen died, though never quite to the same extent, nor was it returned as robustly. Beron especially cooled once Philoméne failed to give him grandchildren in a timely manner ("A century of marriage and you have nothing to show from it?!". Because he's not a monster, Damien was angry on his wife's behalf and they ended up moving closer to where she grew up, on the border of Summer.
Beron thinks Bran - the spare to the spare - is an idiot and washed his hands of him long ago, handing him over to his spymaster, Armitage. Bran's not (an idiot), but he's happy enough to work under him for his own reasons.
Next to Eris, Beron has the closest - and most push and pull - relationship with Caspien, his fifth son. Were he not born so frail, Caspien would be a legit contender for heir, and Beron makes sure to keep his son close and busy so he doesn't get any bright ideas like, oh, allying with his brothers or plotting patricide. He is Beron's personal magician, and the High Lord has invested a lot of time and money into his education.
Atticus was the spare to the spare to the spare to the spare. When Beron remembered he had a sixth son, he also remembered that Atticus wasn't the 'best' at anything when compared to his brothers and went back to paying him little mind. Atticus did a lot of what he did in life as a way to be noticed and, well. That didn't go well.
Danae, the only "claimed" bastard of his, has a very different set of experiences from her brothers. Beron openly dotes on her, to the chagrin of his wife and other children, and Danae likes the attention but also suspects that his motives aren't strictly out of paternal love (which would be right because he's gonna get so much money and prestige from marrying that girl off).
There are more, but this got long enough!
🔥You know... even though I'm writing a fic wherein Beron meets his end, I haven't decided whether it's Nesta or Eris that does him in. For the sake of the narrative, though, I want to say it'll be Eris, and it'll be with something sharp and pointy because I like the idea that they're all fairly resistant to one another's fire.
