“Is that supposed to be funny?” Sam asked, refusing the remove his hand from one of the “metalcuts” on his chest, “It’s not,” he added, unamused and downright grumpy with how their hunt had went. The cuts weren’t lethal at least so there was that, but his big brother’s attempt at humor was a tad annoying. “You avoided getting any injury?” he asked.

“ i’m fine, i can walk, just give me a minute ”

Sam frowned at the sound of an all too familiar voice. He hadn’t seen Ruby in a long time, long before he went to Hell and came back a little... different than usual. Not to mention Dean wasn’t with him, but instead elsewhere on the fair there were other hunters he worked with now. Family. “Well I am a Hunter. Hunting something. I have more reason to be here than you do,” he told her quite nonchalant. 

“I’m not good. I’m not nice. I’m just right.”

Was it a good idea to just go straight up and knock on Bobby’s door with no warning? No phone call. No, ‘hey Bobby guess who’s out of Hell’? No. Of course not.  Sam wasn’t an idiot though. He was prepared to make a dive for the bushes if Bobby got trigger happy. He smiled at the thought. Nah, he wouldn’t go bush diving, but he would knock Bobby down a peg if he it was what he had to do to keep his head.

“I’m going to need a real good reason for me not to bury your own knife in your throat right now,” he stopped just outside the devil’s trap. The tip of his boots just barely touching the white chalk on the floor. Ruby’s old knife twirling between his fingers. A confident, cold smile on his lips.

Sam hissed when Lucifer pulled his shirt off quite roughly. Hearing it ripping a bit as it was pulled over his head, “You think you can torture me now? I don’t scare so easily anymore, Lucy.”
