I will say that making the utroms as a people evil ala the krang shit in some iterations, is way more fucking cliche given their designs than just keeping as neutral to good guys who are for the most part minding their own fucking business trying to keep a low profile.

so the utrom in the original continuity had only been stuck on Earth for like… 20 years
as opposed to the centuries that they'd been stranded in the 03 cartoon
i'm guessing the ooze is the juice of a power cell or something of that nature? wild, turtles and rat mutated by getting alien battery acid on them
cause the only things the utrom could salvage from the wreckage of their ship were exosuits and the power supply. makes sense that the ooze is just fluid from an alien battery. Which feels a lot more sensible and narratively fine that the mutagen is literally just an accident, not any intentional creation or weapon.
i kinda like that in the tmnt universe a transmat/teleportation technology is extremely ground breaking and could be the game changer of wars. And that the utrom already know the tech, showing how much more advanced their tech is.
[Meanwhile the magic fuckers with their magic fight club already have effectively teleportation/portals they just only use it for fightclub and keep it very secret cause they dont want anyone to ruin fight club]

One aspect of science fiction that has fallen out of practice is the concept that what substances are safe for humans to eat, might be toxic to extra terrestrials.
Such as in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, where according to the story, "Wrong Turn" cranberry juice has the same effect on Utroms as booze has on humans.
This would be interesting factoid, made even more interesting by the Utrom in question, Glurin, having drunk quite a bit of juice before testing a dimensional portal on Raphael, Donatello, and Casey Jones.
As much as I hate Rise of the TMNT calling them "The Krang" and not Utroms, I'm still so fascinated by these gross space bastards.

You know, I get that Utroms are supposedly a peaceful race and the “good guys”, but the revelation that they adopted Leaderhead and the fact that - during the events of Secret Origins Part 3 - they didn’t mention him or seem to be worried about what happens to him when the bomb explodes, doesn’t show them in good light.
I had a thought the other day about how SAINW Leo dresses and how it is similar to how Mr Mortu and the Guardians dress. What if Leo was inducted into the Guardians and then after they fell to the Shredder he still continued to try and carry on by himself?
