For anyone worried about all the doomers claiming that all the gerrymandering shenanigans will keep Democrats from taking the House in the midterms, I recommend this video by the awe-inspiring Jess Craven.
It's a long video, so here's a spoiler: Democrats are almost certainly still going to take the House, and likely the Senate, too, this fall. But we can't take it for granted, because this depends on enough of us actually, you know, voting. If you're in the US, make sure you and everyone you know (hell, not just people you know, but everyone you talk to) is registered to vote and understands what ID laws apply in your state. Volunteer with groups that are working on helping make sure everyone can and does vote.

My prediction for the midterms is that the economy will be in an absolute nosedive and people will be furious with the Republicans. The Democrats will absolutely be served another layup on a silver platter and they will also absolutely fail to capitalize on it because all their efforts will be focused on crushing the DSA wing of their own party.
I can’t overstate the sense of doom I’m feeling about the US midterms, and I don’t even live there. The Republican party is EVIL - white supremacist, Christian nationalist, anti-choice, anti-human rights, anti-democracy, anti-vaccine, climate change denying, book burning, gun-toting fascists. A literal cult. The idea of them losing makes me worry for the violence they’ve been threatening - I remember watching the Jan 6th insurrection unfold live on TV and was horrified.
But the idea of them winning?
It’s scary beyond words.
