High rates are crushing homebuilding and driving up housing costs.
A rate cut would spark new construction, ease pressure on families, and make housing more affordable for years to come.

Something I think is useful to keep in mind: the US doesn’t have allies. Whatever they say, what they have is opponents and colonies. That’s it. Like, the Trump administration is three weeks away from imposing sanctions - sanctions - on the EU because the EU, a bunch of sovereign states and also - pretty inarguably - the US’ most important ‘ally’ is now funding a common project for the development of some new military plane. As it is, the EU buys 81% of its weapons from the US, but apparently we need to involve them into every. single. decision we make as a continent, or fucking else. And this is not on Trump: for instance, no US President has ever questioned the need to keep military bases in ‘allied’ countries, or made any serious effort to punish those soldiers who rape and murder locals living around those bases. So whatever your political position, I think it’s worth keeping this in mind: for a lot of reasons, the US is just not interested in alliances. And now the geopolitical balance is shifting and we’re seeing a truly incompetent US administration, that is more relevant than ever.
We’re seeing massive investment in U.S. manufacturing and innovation.
• Apple is increasing its commitment from $500B to $600B to build in America, not just design here.
• Micron is investing $200B for production of advanced memory chips.
• IBM announced a $150B investment over the next five years.
• NVIDIA said it will invest $500B in AI infrastructure.
• Softbank, OpenAI, and Oracle are bringing together $500B investment in AI infrastructure.
Trillions are coming back, and this is just the beginning.
